Volunteers in the New Jersey, of the United States, help victims of Hurricane Irene clean up their homes.
And we start a new series on the disputed island of Dongsha, which is Taiwan”s first marine national park.

1.NGO慈濟影片 2nd day at UN DPI/NGO conference
Like yesterday, we start today”s show in Germany, at the 64th Annual UN DPI/NGO conference, where Tzu Chi showcased a documentary, about its work in Chile, after last year”s earthquake. The film got the audience curious about the NGO, and, the Tzu Chi stall was soon busy with inquisitive visitors.
就如同昨天一樣，今天節目一開始來到德國，關心第64屆聯合國公共資訊部門非政府組織小組年會，慈濟透過有關援助2010年2月27號，智利8.8級的紀錄片，來讓更多的人認識這個佛教非政府組織，也讓慈濟的攤位熱鬧許多。
2.新澤西助清掃 Clean up work begins in New Jersey
Yesterday, we followed volunteers on a survey of disaster areas in New Jersey, of the United States. Today, we catch up with the volunteers, in the city of Elizabeth, where they helped residents clean up their homes.
昨天我們跟著志工到美國東岸新澤西一起去勘災，今天我們同樣跟著志工，來到新澤西伊莉莎白市，協助災民們家園的善後工作。
3.美聖荷西義診 Free clinic with NMDP in San Jose
Staying in the US, in Northern California, TIMA again partnered the National Marrow Donor Program, to hold a free clinic, and donation drive, in San Jose. The medical volunteers treated 362 patients.
來到美國，慈濟北加州醫療團隊再度與美國國家骨髓資料庫合作，在聖荷西市區舉辦義診，醫療志工為362位患者減輕病苦。

4.大體感恩追思+入龕 Simulate surgery class concludes
The second simulated surgery class of the year at the Tzu Chi University, ended on Monday. Doctors and students practiced on eight body donors, or silent mentors. At the end of the class, their remains were laid to rest, in a funeral ceremony.
慈濟大學今年度第二梯大體模擬手術，在星期一圓緣，醫學系學生與醫師在8位大體老師的身上練習醫學術式，課程結束後，也為大體老師舉辦送靈與入龕的儀式。
5.大體邱秀敏 First actor to be a Silent Mentor
One of the recent Silent Mentors was the Taiwanese actress, Qiu Xiumin(邱秀敏), known for her roles in Da Ai dramas. In August of last year, she died of cancer, and, in accordance with her wishes, her body was donated to Tzu Chi University.
今年啟用的大體老師中，其中一位是台灣演藝人員邱秀敏，曾經演過許多大愛劇場，去年八月邱秀敏因為大腸癌往生，最後也依她的希望，將大體捐給慈濟大學。

The earth sustains all living and non-living beings, so we should be grateful and cherish this place.
By walking softly, we learn to grateful. Only when our planet is in good shape, will we be able to live in harmony and in good health.
大地承載萬物，也供應萬物生存，我們要感恩、疼惜這片土地，期勉大家走路要輕，常保這份心自然就能疼惜萬物。也唯有大地平安，我們才能安穩度日、健康生存。
6.珊瑚指環東沙(1) Hotly disputed Dongsha atoll
Dongsha is a tiny island in the South China Sea belonging by Taiwan, but claimed by other countries. It is also Taiwan”s first marine national park. Our reporter traveled there, on the patrol boat, that leaves Kaohsiung each month.
東沙是中國南海海域最小的島嶼，屬台灣的領土，也是各國覬覦的對象，是臺灣首座海洋型國家公園，我們的記者搭上巡防艦來到這裡，是高雄海巡署船艦每個月進行一次的巡防地點。

1901 Boxer Protocol
After the defeat of the Boxer Rebellion in China, the Eight-Nation Alliance took over Beijing, and together with three other European countries signed the Boxer Protocol with the Qing Empire. The clauses in the agreement included exorbitant compensation and concessions of land to the Allies. The surrender to foreign powers caused widespread dissatisfaction among the Chinese people, and would later lead to the revolution to overthrow the Qing government.
1940 Battle of Britain
Beginning July 1940, Germany waged a prolonged air battle against the United Kingdom, known as the Battle of Britain. On this day in 1940 the attacks that had been launched on British airfields were redirected at cities and towns instead, causing extensive damage to the country”s infrastructure. London was one of the cities that suffered most during World War II.
2006 TC on Christmas Island
Located in the Indian Ocean, the Territory of Christmas Island is part of Australia and also a holiday hotspot. One Taiwanese immigrant on the island came to know Tzu Chi by chance, and began volunteering for the NGO. With the consent of Master Cheng Yen, a Tzu Chi liaison office was opened on the island on this day in 2006, followed by a founding ceremony on the 30th of the same month, marking the start of Tzu Chi”s charity work and conservation work there.
1901年，辛丑條約，中國革命導火線，由於義和團運動失敗，使得八國聯軍攻入北京，迫使滿清政府與歐美十一個國家簽署和平條約，割地賠款，滿清政府的低姿態，重創民族自尊，埋下日後反清革命導火。
1940年，英德空戰轟炸倫敦，納粹德國從1940年七月開始進攻英國，雙方在空中交戰，爆發不列顛戰役，以轟炸飛機基地為主，這天開始卻轉向轟炸各大城市，各項公共設施付之一炬，使得倫敦成為二戰中受攻擊最嚴重的其中一座城市。
2006年，澳洲聖誕島成立慈濟新據點，澳洲度假勝地聖誕島位在印度洋，旅居當地的台灣華僑，因緣巧合認識了慈濟，而開始投入志工，經由證嚴法師同意，這天成立聯絡點，並且在三十號舉行成立大會，開始落實當地的慈善關懷，帶動環保回收。
8.母伴損傷女 Life is better thanks to Tzu Chi
In our penultimate story today, we introduce you to Tzu Chi volunteer, Chen Shuyan(陳淑燕) and her mentally handicapped daughter Zhou Ziwen(周子文) who both volunteer for Tzu Chi.
