Coming up in today’s show, China Tzu Chi volunteers continue to bring love and warmth to needy residents in Fujian(福建) and Hubei(湖北). As this year marks the 20th anniversary of Tzu Ching, youth volunteers from South Africa return to Hualien, to take part in the annual training seminar. And, we travel to Penghu to meet incense stick maker, Chen Rongyi(陳榮一), who makes natural insect repellent, the traditional way.

1. 孝昌+晉江冬令發放

First up in China, Tzu Chi volunteers continue to spread their love to residents of remote areas. In Fujian(福建), local volunteers joined winter aid distributions to show their gratitude for all that Tzu Chi has done for them. While in Hubei(湖北), besides handing out aid supplies, doctors were on hand, to conduct a health checkup for senior and disabled residents.

在中國的慈濟志工，持續到偏遠地區愛灑。在福建，當地志工參與發放，回饋他們所收到的關懷；在湖北的志工，也請了醫生到發放現場，守護鄉親的健康。


2. 泰北冬令發放

Moving to Thailand, Kan-cha-na-buri Province, shares a common border with Myanmar and, as a result, this region sees many Burmese labor workers. As life is difficult for many, Bangkok Tzu Chi volunteers arrived in the area with blankets, second-hand clothing and food supplies for the some 1,000 residents.

鏡頭轉到泰國北碧府，它和緬甸交界，因此這裡有很多緬甸籍的勞工，這裡的外籍勞工生活困苦，曼谷慈濟志工帶來毛毯、二手衣，還有各種食物、物資，幫助近一千人。


3. 美街友冬令

In Northern California of the United States, Tzu Chi volunteers from the Stockton liaison office regularly visit the homeless people each month, to bring them hot meals. At this month’s visit, volunteers not only prepared the usual breakfast meal, but also handed relief packs that included hats, gloves and scarves, to help everyone get through the cold winter.

美國北加州的士德頓慈濟志工，每個月都會為街友發放熱騰騰的早餐，而在這個月的探訪，志工們不只準備熱食，也發放愛心包，有帽子、手套與圍巾，幫助大家度過寒冷的冬天。


4. 美療養院耶誕

Staying in Northern California of the United States, Tzu Chi volunteers in San Jose visited senior residents in a local nursing home. With some volunteers bringing their children to put on performances, residents were all smiles.

也是美國北加州的報導，聖荷西慈濟志工關懷當地的療養院長者，很多志工帶著小朋友一起表演，讓長輩們度過歡喜的耶誕節。


5. 馬難民耶誕節+加耶誕好話

Also celebrating Christmas are Tzu Chi volunteers, in both Canada and Malaysia. In Canada, volunteers dressed up as Santa to hand out lollies to students at the Vancouver Tzu Chi Academy, while in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur volunteers brought the festive spirit to refugees at a free clinic.

加拿大跟馬來西亞慈濟志工也在慶祝耶誕節。在加拿大，志工們扮成耶誕老公公，分糖果給溫哥華人文學校的學生；而在馬來西亞，吉隆坡慈濟人則在義診現場，為看診的難民準備一連串的節目。

6. 南非善循環

This year, marks the 20th anniversary of the Tzu Chi Collegiate Youth Association, and to celebrate, Tzu Chings from all around the globe have returned to their spiritual home, in Hualien, to take part in the annual training seminar. Among the participants, are five Tzu Chings from South Africa, all of whom were Tzu Chi’s scholarship recipients in the past.

今年是慈青成立20周年，來自世界各國的慈青，回到了心靈故鄉花蓮，參加海外慈青幹訓營，一同慶祝，其中有五位來自南非的本土慈青，都曾是慈濟助學金的得主。


7. 慈青美東賑災

Following the devastation of Hurricane Sandy on the East Coast of the United States, helping residents recover and rebuild were hundreds of Tzu Chi volunteers, as well as Tzu Chings. At the recent annual Tzu Ching conference in Taiwan, several Tzu Chings shared their experiences of what it was like to live through the hurricane, or help those in need during that difficult time.

桑迪風暴重創美國東岸，除了數百位慈濟志工協助重建，一同幫忙的還有慈青，最近在台灣舉辦的慈青年度大會，許多慈青分享風災的經歷，以及協助災民的體會。


8. 賴索托歲末發放

At the end of this year, Tzu Chi volunteers in Lesotho visited 36 care recipients with food supplies. This time, they included some additional items, in hopes that these im-poverished families, will have a joyous new year.

歲末之際，賴索托慈濟志工送來定期的糧食物資，給36個照顧戶家庭，這次還多準備了幾樣物資，希望這些生活困苦的家庭能夠歡喜過好年。


9. 蔡天勝借鏡

Tzu Chi volunteer Cai Tiansheng(蔡天勝) and Lin Chaoqing(林朝清) were former drug users who came to a turning point in life, after meeting Tzu Chi. Today, both volunteers are now promoting an anti-drug campaign in schools around Taiwan. Speaking from their experience, the two volunteers hope to use their life stories, to keep children on the right path in life.

慈濟志工蔡天勝、林朝清，曾經因為吸毒入獄服刑，而在遇到慈濟後，生命有了不同的轉折。今天，兩位志工常到各個校園宣導反毒，希望透過親身經驗，鼓勵小朋友走在人生正確的道路上。

On Blessings

Tzu Chi’s long term charity work in helping the needy around the island, has spread the love of Taiwan far and wide. The citizens of Taiwan are blessed to have the ability to give to help those in greater need.

10. 360傳香

As a tropical climate country, many who travel to Taiwan during the summer holidays, probably have all experienced mosquito bites. And for those who live in Taiwan, they are also constantly finding ways to keep away the insect. In today’s feature report on Taiwan’s unique industries, we meet Chen Rongyi(陳榮一), who is known for making incense sticks that are used as insect repellent.

由於台灣地處亞熱帶，在夏季前來台灣旅遊的遊客，一定有遭蚊蟲肆虐的經驗，而住在台灣的民眾，則是不停的尋找驅蚊方法，在今天的真情臉譜專題，我們來認識陳榮一，製作澎湖有名的天然蚊香。

In the United States, Tzu Chi volunteers are continuing to help Hurricane Sandy survivors by handing out cash cards and raising funds.

1.泉州第二天

As Tzu Chi volunteers in Fujian(福建), China, continue to carry out winter relief distributions in Quanzhou(泉州) City, many local residents came to offer their assistance and among them was Tzu Chi care recipient Yang Ziyou (楊自由). An accident 5 years ago left Yang`s legs paralyzed, but with Tzu Chi`s care, she discovered a new meaning to life through giving.

福建省的慈濟志工，今天持續在泉州市發放，當地有不少鄉親來付出，其中一位 還是慈濟，居家關懷戶，住在晉江龍湖區的楊自由，五年多前發生意外而癱瘓，讓她透過付出，找到人生新意義。
2.泉州寶軍自立

Last year, we brought you the story, of para-ple-gic Su Baojun(蘇寶軍), who lives in Quanzhou(泉州) City. Recently, volunteers returned to see how Su is doing and found the young man excited about his new business opportunities.

去年曾經報導，住在中國福建省，泉州市的蘇寶軍，近日慈濟志工再度拜訪，發現了寶軍對自己的事業，充滿了動力。


3.福建冬令訪視

Staying in China, while Tzu Chi volunteers were in Fujian`s(福建) Quanzhou(泉州) City, for a 3-day distribution, they visited 6 villages in Quangang(泉港) District, helping some 16,000 families. Apart from traveling to remote mountainous areas, volunteers also took a boat, to deliver the much needed winter supplies to residents in Huiyu(惠嶼) Island.

也是中國，志工來到福建泉州展開，為期三天的冬令發放，而在這幾天的活動中，他們探訪了六個村鎮，總共幫助了1萬6千多戶家庭，除了前往山區，志工們也搭船來到離島惠嶼，為居民送上物資。

4.重返史坦頓

In the United States, New York Tzu Chi volunteers once again visited Staten Island, to distribute cash cards to help Hurricane Sandy survivors. This time around, they helped Mexican illegal migrants, at a local immigration center.

紐約慈濟志工再度重回史坦頓島，進行現值卡發放，給桑迪風災的受災居民，這次在當地移民中心，進行發放的對象是，非法的墨西哥移民。


5.美桑迪音樂會

Also in the United States, in mid-December, Tzu Chi volunteers prepared a charity concert to raise funds for Sandy survivors, with participating performers from all walks of life. Let`s take a look.

也是美國的報導，在12月中旬，美國洛杉磯慈濟志工，舉辦了一場為桑迪災民募款的音樂會，表演者都來自各行各業，一起去瞧一瞧。


6.加耶誕關懷

For many years now, during the Christmas season, Tzu Chi volunteers in Vancouver, Canada, have been caring for those in need. In Chinatown`s Cooper Place, senior residents enjoyed a Christmas show and tasty dishes prepared by Tzu Chi volunteers. Meanwhile, responding to a hotel manager`s request, the volunteers went to the London Hotel to care for low-income tenants.

加拿大溫哥華慈濟志工，長期關懷當地需要幫助的人，在中國城庫柏老人院的長者，享受了志工準備的耶誕節表演，以及可口的素食餐點，同時，志工接受旅館經理邀約，前往倫敦旅館，關懷低收入戶的房客。


7.日本東北祈福

In Japan, Tzu Chi volunteers carried out, 4 year-end blessing ceremonies, in Miyagi Prefecture between December 22nd and 24th. On its final day, Tzu Chi volunteers arrived at Ka-ho-ku to celebrate the end of a peaceful year.

日本慈濟志工在宮城縣，從12月22到24日，舉辦四場歲末祝福感恩會，最後一天 志工來到河北，跟居民一起慶祝度過平安的一年


《 衲履足跡 》談茹素 On Vegetarianism

The promotion of vegetarianism is not based on religion, but that it will benefit the environment.
Besides building a healthy body and mind, vegetarians are less temperamental; when human minds are at peace, the society will be harmonious as well.

推動素食不只是出於宗教觀點，而是對環保要盡一分心力；素食對生心理健康皆有益，而且素食者性情較不暴躁，心境較平穩；人心平穩，治安就會更好。

8.360健康管理師

In this health conscious society, most companies have already included regular health check-ups for their employees, however some corporations have taken it one step further, by hiring a health management specialist, to look after their workers full time, and today, we meet one of them, Wang Lianxin(王連馨).

現代人講求健康，這股風氣，甚至擴大到民間企業，大部分的公司，都已經提供員工，定期健康檢查，現在還有業者，在公司裡聘請專任的健康管理師，今天，我們帶大家認識其中一位 王連馨。


9.竹南清屋

In Zhunan(竹南), of Miaoli(苗栗), 73-year-old Grandma Xu(許) lives in solitude. With the new year just around the corner, Tzu Chi volunteers and university students arrived to clean Grandma Xu`s home, bringing with them joy and laughter that the house hasn`t felt in a long time.

在竹南苗栗住了一位，73歲的許阿嬤，由於三個兒子往生，一個癱瘓，住在安養院，她自己一個人住，眼看年關將近，慈濟志工和大學生，來幫阿嬤大掃除，也帶來這個家，很久沒有的熱鬧氣氛。


10.慈大精舍打掃

In Taiwan, first year students at the Tzu Chi University, traveled to Jing Si Abode in Hualien, to help with the year-end cleaning. As the students busied themselves with cleaning and sweeping the buildings and grounds, many experienced a different form of spiritual training.

台灣慈濟大學的大一新生，回到心靈故鄉，花蓮靜思精舍，幫忙進行歲末的大掃除，學生們忙著掃地清理時，感受到心靈平靜的感覺，可以專心在一件事上，作為精神訓練的一種方式。

We stay in Taiwan at the end of today`s program, to celebrate the end of 2012, Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital organized a banquet, inviting over 500 volunteers who served at the hospital to attend. 1.泉州冬令發放

In China`s Fujian(福建) Province, beginning on December 25th, Tzu Chi held a 3-day winter aid distribution in Quanzhou(泉州) City. On the first day, the distribution was held at Quangang(泉港) District, and a total of 7,256 families received aid supplies. Many local residents, upon arriving at the distribution venue, did not hurry to pick up their aid packs, but instead lent a helping hand to ensure the smooth running of the event.

在中國的福建省，從12月25日開始一連三天，慈濟在泉州市展開冬令發放，第一天發放的地點在泉港區，總共有7256戶家庭領到物資，許多鄉親來到發放現場，都不急於領取物資，反而投入志工的行列，協助活動順利進行。


2.瀘州冬令發放

Also in China, Luzhou(瀘州) District in Sichuan(四川) Province, experienced serious flooding this July. After the flood waters slowly receded, Tzu Chi was there to offer aid and care to families in need. On December 22nd, volunteers held a winter aid distribution for 2,999 households in Luzhou(瀘州) City. Each family received a bag of rice, cooking oil, as well as warm clothing and blankets. Thanks to the love of Tzu Chi, these families are guaranteed of a warm winter.

也是中國的報導，四川瀘州，在今年七月發生嚴重水患，洪災過後，慈濟持續提供物資與關懷，給貧困的家庭與學生，為了持續關懷，志工在12月22號，為2999戶瀘州鄉親進行冬令發放，每一戶家庭收到了大米、食用油、禦寒衣物和棉被，因為有慈濟志工的愛，這些家庭都能度過溫暖的冬天。


3.紐約消防官發放

In the United States, volunteers from Tzu Chi New York Chapter, continue to distribute cash cards to Hurricane Sandy survivors. This time around, they helped current and former firefighters, whose houses were severely damaged by the hurricane. At the distribution, 116 families of the firefighters received Tzu Chi`s help.

在美國 慈濟紐約分會的志工，仍然持續針對桑迪風災的受災戶，進行現值卡的發放，這次的發放對象是，在職或退休的紐約市消防官，他們的房子因為風災而損毀，這一天總計共發放116戶。

4.美23周年慶

The Tzu Chi US Headquarters is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year and, to date, has seen a total of 2,891 certified commissioners, who are continuing to carry out Tzu Chi`s work to help the poor. On December 8th, Tzu Chi volunteers from all around the United States gathered in San Dimas, California, to attend the ”Unity Consensus Seminar”, in which the volunteers were inspired, to continue light up dark corners around the world.

慈濟美國總會，今年慶祝23歲生日，目前，在全美已受證的志工人數，有2891人，在全美各地推動濟貧教富的工作，12月8日，全美志工齊聚美國加州慈濟總會，參予合心共識營，要鼓勵志工用愛，照亮更多黑暗角落。


5.耶誕書軒送愛

During the holiday season, the one thing most people look forward to is receiving gifts on Christmas Day. Here in Taoyuan(桃園),Taiwan, Jing Si Publications organized a book donation drive, and donated a variety of books to the Dalun(大崙) Elementary School. For teachers and students, this Christmas gift was one of a kind.

在耶誕期間，大家最期盼的就是收到禮物，在台灣桃園，靜思人文響應捐書活動，將多種類出版的書籍捐贈給，大崙國小讓師生閱讀，對師生來說，這是一份最另類的耶誕節禮物。


6.亞庇照顧戶(二)

In Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Tzu Chi volunteers held a series of activities such as health check-ups, eye examinations and free haircuts for 283 care recipients. At the event, the volunteers also took the opportunity to promote recycling, and prepared vegetarian dishes for the care recipients to enjoy.

在馬來西亞亞庇，慈濟志工安排一系列活動，包括體檢、眼睛檢查、免費理髮，服務283名照顧戶，活動中也不忘宣導環保知識，活動也招待簡單素宴，讓照顧戶感到如回家般溫馨。


7.義診防中風

Medical staff from the Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, recently carried out a free clinic in Central Taiwan, with doctors from ophthalmology, dental and internal medicine departments taking part. A neurosurgeon was also on site, to remind residents of the things to take note of in the cold weather, as a prevention against strokes.

台中慈院醫護人員到山區義診，有眼科、牙科、內科一起加入，還有神經外科醫師，也提醒大家注意，冷天氣更要有效預防中風。


《 衲履足跡 》談法入心 On Taking Dharma to Heart

When practicing Buddhism, one must take dharma to heart, as it is the only way to truly understand the real meaning behind the religion.

Religion is not a wishing well and will only be of benefit when one takes dharma to heart, practice the ideals in their daily lives, and get rid of their bad habits.

學佛一定要學得法入心，假如法不入心，絕對無法理解宗教的真實道理。信仰宗教不是臨事祈禱，要真正對法理有所感悟，運用生活中、改除惡習，才於已有益。


8.360水庫管理員

Taiwan`s Feitsui(翡翠) Reservoir is one of two major water sources for residents in Taipei, Tamsui(淡水) and Taoyuan. Guarding the water sources is no easy task, due to frequent trespassers, however, thanks to a small number of security guards, residents do not have to worry about the purity of their drinking water. In today`s segment of Taiwan`s unique trades, we take you behind the scenes, for a look at what Feitsui(翡翠) Reservoir security guards do on the job.

台灣的翡翠水庫，是北臺灣地區，淡水、桃園地區，其中一個重要水庫，管制水庫並不是一件簡單的事，因為有很多人會偷跑進去，可是因為有一群駐衛警，人們並不用擔心水質問題，今天帶大家看，翡翠水庫管理員 他們工作內容。


9.神父賣涼麵

In Taiwan`s Tainan, Catholic priest, Father Li Ruowang(李若望) opened a cold noodle restaurant near his church, not because he was looking to make extra cash, but as a way to protect the troubled children in his congregation. As there were plans to turn the previous vacant storefront, into an Internet cafe or video arcade, Li took it upon himself to rent the location. Now, his noodle store also serves as a place, for those who might need temporary employment, to make ends meet.

在台南台灣，一位天主教的神父 李若望，開了一間 涼麵店，在他教會附近，不是因為要賺錢，而是要保護他教會的輔導孩子，因為有傳說那間空店，要改租給網咖或是電玩店，所以李若望就把店租下來，現在他的涼麵店，也剛好可以提供就業機會，給那些有所需的人。

As 2013 is just a few days away, many families are getting ready to celebrate the coming New Year. However, for some low-income families, they probably do not look forward to the holiday as much. In the United States, Tzu Chi volunteers in Texas arrived in Lindais Elementary School, to hand out winter jackets to its students, as most of them are from low-income households. In the United States, for several students at Linden High School in New Jersey, their families continue to struggle to rebuild their homes after Hurricane Sandy. To help these struggling families, the high school put together a fund raising drive. Hu Dejiang(胡德獎), who teaches Chinese at the school and have received Tzu Chi`s help in the past, asked the Buddhist NGO to step in and give a helping hand. Tzu Chi volunteers responded by arriving at the school to hand out cash cards to those students in need. Here`s more.

美國新澤西的林登高中學生，在桑迪風災後，持續重建家園，為了幫助受災家庭，學校發起募款活動，教授中文的胡德獎老師，過去曾接受慈濟幫忙，他向慈濟志工求援，志工也特地前往學校發放現值卡，讓學生很開心。


2.山東臨沂發放

Moving to China, in Linyi(臨沂), of Shandong(山東) Province, where temperatures have dropped to 11 degrees below zero, Tzu Chi volunteers held a winter aid distribution to hand out aid supplies to local residents. To keep everyone warm, the volunteers served ginger tea, as they were waiting to pick up the relief supplies.

轉到中國，在山東省臨沂，當地氣溫只已有零下11度，慈濟志工舉辦冬令發放，送上物資跟關懷，害怕民眾受寒，志工還送上薑茶，讓前來領取物資的民眾暖身。


3.英國街友發放

In the United Kingdom, Manchester Tzu Chi volunteers held their annual winter aid distribution at a local day center, where the homeless or others in need, can visit and get a warm meal to eat. This year, the volunteers prepared not only the usual winter hat and gloves, but also included Tzu Chi`s instant rice and carefully translated the preparation instructions. Both volunteers and recipients alike, felt the blessings from this joyous occasion.

在英國，曼徹斯特慈濟志工，在收容中心舉辦了，每年的冬天發放，要把溫暖送給街友，今年不止準備了保暖的帽子和手套，還有香積飯，以及翻譯的使用說明，街友與志工們都期待天的來臨。

4.日東松島石卷歲末併

To celebrate the end of a peaceful year, Tzu Chi volunteers in Japan have organized 4 year-end blessing ceremonies in Miyagi Prefecture, from December 22nd to 24th. Residents were happy to see the familiar faces of Tzu Chi volunteers, and many brought their bamboo coin banks, to donate a little of their love.

歲末之際，日本慈濟志工，一連3天從12月22日到24日，在宮城縣舉辦4場歲末祝福，居民歡喜滿滿，迎接熟悉的身影，慈濟志工的到來，還有許多居民則帶來，日日積存的愛心竹筒，回饋慈濟。


5.緬甸工地視察

Following Cyclone Nargis in 2008, Tzu Chi was one of the first organizations on the ground, helping citizens of Myanmar recover from the devastation caused by the storm. In addition to delivering immediate, emergency care, Tzu Chi also put in place, several medium and long term plans, that included the rebuilding of schools destroyed by the disaster. Recently, several of these long-term plans have come to fruition as the first two schools were finished in 2010 and 2011 respectively, while the third school is scheduled for completion in January 2013.

2008年，納吉斯風災侵襲之後，慈濟是第一個抵達緬甸，便馬上為居民進行急難救助，除了提供即時的救援之外，慈濟也同時啟動了中長期的援建工程計畫，這包括幫助風災損毀的校園重建，目前第一、二所學校，已經分別在2010年和2011年完工，而第三所學校，也預計在明年一月完工。

6.亞庇照顧戶(1)

In Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Tzu Chi volunteers invited care recipients to the local liaison office, in an effort to further introduce them to Tzu Chi`s work. Volunteers also seized the opportunity to encourage the recipients, to adopt a bamboo coin bank, and join Tzu Chi to help those in greater need.

在馬來西亞亞庇，慈濟志工邀請照顧戶回到會所，希望進一步推廣慈濟，也呼籲響應竹筒歲月精神，加入慈濟助人的行列。

In recent years, adolescents performing acts of violence seems to have become more frequent. Many blame it on an increase in violent video games; however, parents might need to shoulder some of that responsibility, instead of solely blaming the gaming industry. In our last series of Internet addiction, we take a look at how video games may or may not be harming the next generation.

1.義大利發放

In Italy, some residents who suffer from the devastating earthquake back in May has yet to recover. Some are still living in temporary tent shelters; as the temperature drops, Tzu Chi volunteers held two aid distributions, in Bondeno and Fi-na-le E-milia.

義大利，今年五月下旬，接連發生強震，到現在都還未復原，還有許多民眾住在帳棚區，因為溫度持續下降，慈濟來到兩個地區舉辦發放棄。


2.美低收入戶發放

In the United States, US Tzu Chi Headquarters recently held a winter aid distribution to help low income families. The distribution, held on December 17, took place in San Francisco, California. Volunteers also took the chance to introduce bamboo coin banks to residents and encouraged them to adopt a coin bank as a way to complete the cycle of love.

美國慈濟總會，在歲末年終展開一年一度的冬令發放活動，12月17日的發放在舊金山舉行，同時也介紹慈濟的竹筒歲月，鼓勵大家領竹筒，完成善循環。


3.南美併+多耶誕關懷併+美加

As we celebrate Christmas today, Tzu Chi volunteers around the globe are bringing love and care to those who are either homeless or live in temporary shelters. In the US and Canada, volunteers are providing hot meals and winter aid supplies to the homeless and children at a local shelter. While in Central America, Dominican Republic volunteers handed out apples to children at the Tzu Chi La Romana School. But first, we join Tzu Chi volunteers in Argentina and Paraguay as they handed out Christmas gifts.

慶祝耶誕節的同時，全球慈濟志工則為無家可歸的人，帶來關愛與物資；在美國與加拿大，慈濟志工為街友和街童，帶來熱食與生活用品；在多明尼加，慈濟志工來到拉羅馬那慈濟學校，為孩子送上蘋果，但首先，我們跟著巴拉圭與阿根廷的志工，一起送出耶誕禮物。

We have all heard of cases in which children have taken their own lives after their parents forbade them from playing online games. In order to help children and families before they reach this level of desperation, Jianan(嘉南) Mental Hospital in Yunlin(雲林) County is here to help.

我們都有聽過，學生因為家人禁止玩線上遊戲，而選擇自殺身亡，要怎麼幫助沉迷於虛擬世界的這些孩子和家庭呢？雲林的嘉南療養院，可以幫忙。


5.黃運昌關懷

Continuing in Taiwan, Huang Yunchang(黃運昌), a recycling volunteer from Taoyuan, was electrocuted in a tragic accident. Through out his time in the hospital, Tzu Chi volunteers continue to show love and care to Huang(黃). Upon waking up from the temporary coma, volunteers vow to continue to stand by his family through this difficult time.


也是台灣的報導，住在桃園台灣，環保志工黃運昌，不慎觸電發生意外，住院期間，慈濟志工不間斷的關懷，黃運昌終於醒來，志工也發願，會持續陪伴他的家人，跟他們一起度過難關。

The increase in human desires is the real cause behind conflicts and wars; thus, it is ever more important to purify human minds.

Spiritual cleansing is the best form of recycling, as little desires and contentment helps one change their way of life, which also means less urban development in our society.

因為人心欲望深重、國家相爭，所以更加需要淨化人心。心靈淨化是最徹底的環保，少欲知足，就能改變生活習慣，自然環境就不再受無盡的開發。

We kick off today`s program in China; as Tzu Chi volunteers continue to distribute winter aid supplies to elderly residents in Hubei(湖北) Province. And, on the other side of the planet, in the United States, volunteers in Nevada, act as Santa Claus, bringing children gifts for the coming Christmas holidays.

今天一開始來到中國，慈濟志工繼續在湖北舉辦發放，還有地球的另一端，在美國的內華達州，慈濟志工帶替耶誕老公公，帶禮物給學生們。


2.北加人文義賣

In the United States, students and parents at the Tzu Chi San Jose Academy, continue to raise funds for Hurricane Sandy survivors, with students giving up their pocket money and, one parent even donating 20 cheese pizzas for the fundraising efforts.

在美國，北加州聖荷西人文學校師生，持續發起捐款活動，要幫助美東風災的災民，學生也捐出自己的零用錢，其中一位孩子的家長，還捐出店裡販賣的20個比薩作為義賣。


3.加總理頒獎

As 2012 marks the 60th anniversary of the ac-cession of Queen Elizabeth II, countries within the Commonwealth of Nations held events to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee. Following the tradition, a Diamond Jubilee medal is being awarded in Canada and other Commonwealth nations. To thank the selfless dedication of the Tzu Chi Foundation over the past 20 years, the Canada Government awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal to Tzu Chi.

2012年是英國女王，伊麗莎白二世登基60周年，大英國協各國展開鑽禧慶典，根據傳統，加拿大和其他大英國協國家，會頒發獎章，為了感謝慈濟20年來無私的付出，加拿大政府頒發給慈濟，英女王登基六十年鑽禧獎章。

Here in Taiwan`s Chiayi (嘉義), Mr. Huang, was afraid of seeking treatment for the wounds on his legs, as he could not afford the expensive transportation and medical costs. Thankfully, the arrival of TIMA doctors gave him a ray of hope. And with the help of TIMA doctors, Grandma Yang(楊), who never fully recovered from her stroke, was shown the correct way to carry out her rehabilitation.

在台灣嘉義有位黃先生，因為擔心車資與醫藥費，腿上的傷口遲遲沒有就醫，當人醫會醫師來訪時，給了他一線曙光，還有一位楊阿嬤，中風後病情沒改善，好在人醫會醫師，教導阿嬤正確做復健。

5.喜出網外(四)成功戒網癮

Today, in our continuing series on Internet addiction, we meet graduate student Weng Yuxiang.(翁鈺翔) Weng(翁) was formally addicted to internet games for nearly 7 years, but has now successful turned, what was once an addiction, into an occasional hobby. He says, the key to leaving his addiction behind, was finding an activity and interest. Let`s now take a look at the world he once lived in, and how he was finally able to leave it all behind.

今天「喜出網外」專題報導，要帶您認識研究生翁鈺翔，他曾經網路成癮長達七年，他說遠離網癮的關鍵是，他找到了比電玩來有趣的事情，一起來看看他曾沉迷的世界，以及他如何戒掉網癮。


6.做環保平喪子痛

Staying in Taiwan, in Tainan, Xu Mingshen(許明生) and Cai Lizhu (蔡麗珠) met Tzu Chi, when their son was hospitalized at the Dalin(大林) Tzu Chi General Hospital, and during that time, the family experienced the love and care of the medical staff and Tzu Chi volunteers. After their son passed away, the couple dedicated themselves to recycling, as a way to reciprocate Tzu Chi`s kindness. The family has now become more harmonious and the couple`s daughter has even decided to follow in their footsteps.

在台南有一對夫妻，蔡麗珠與許明生，他們在兒子生病住在大林慈濟醫院時，感受到醫護人員，和慈濟志工的溫情與關懷，兒子往生後，他們積極投入環保，家裏也變得和睦，這對夫妻的女兒也跟隨著父母腳步一同做環保。


【 衲履足跡 】談環保 On Recycling

To save the planet from being severely damaged, it is necessary to practice conservation work, and recycle and reuse all items.

Despite the low revenue, recycling work is not about making money, but devoting ourselves wholeheartedly to safeguard Mother Earth.

希望地球平安，就要力行環保；地球已經受傷嚴重，要認真保護，將丟棄的物品回收再製。雖然價格低廉，但是做回收不是為了變賣，而是真心誠意為了保護地球而做。


7.360配音員

In Taiwan, when we turn on the TV, we have a variety of channels to choose from, with several of them showing cartoons or movies from abroad. However these films or cartoons all need to be first narrated in our language, before they are ready to be broadcast. In today`s feature report on Taiwan`s fading industries, we meet two voice narrators who are responsible for voicing a variety of cartoon characters, including Doraemon and Crayon Shin-Chan. Let`s take a look.

在台灣，每當我們打開電視，就有許多節目可以欣賞，當中也有許多國外的卡通與影片，而這些影片通常都要先，透過配音員製作成中文才能播放，在今天的真情臉譜專題，我們來認識兩位資深配音員，您所認識的多啦A夢，還有蠟筆小新都是他們配音的，讓我們一起來看看。


8.進補反效果

Traditionally, Taiwanese residents will drink herbal tonics during the cold weather, to keep warm and as a dietary supplement. Stores that sell ginger duck soup and lamb hot-pot are especially popular. However, a senior in Taichung City was sent to the hospital, after drinking two bowls of ginger duck soup. Doctors say, that these soup contains a large amount of sodium, and thus are harmful to those with chronic disease. Healthy residents should also watch their sodium intake and realize that, one bowl of herbal tonic per meal is more than enough.

很多台灣民眾都會冬令進補，來幫助保暖和保養身體，坊間販賣薑母鴨，羊肉爐的進補店面，生意興隆，但是台中一名腎臟病患，因此連喝了兩碗薑母鴨湯，想不到整個人腫脹起來，醫師說，補湯內含有高鈉，對於慢性病患者，負擔很大不宜進補，而健康的國人的鈉，不用刻意進補，每餐一碗就足夠了。


9.南港歲末推素

As Tzu Chi continues to hold its year-end blessing ceremonies throughout Taiwan, the Tzu Chi Taipei Eastern District Liaison Office held its year-end blessing ceremony on December 16th. To ensure the participants all had a good time, Tzu Chi volunteer Lin Shuhui (林淑惠) poured her heart and soul into decorating the venue.

歲末祝福繼續在台灣展開，而台北東區聯絡處，在12月16號，舉辦歲末祝福，而為了讓民眾度過，愉快時光，慈濟志工 林淑惠，在現場的布置，下足苦心。


10.信義二手義賣

Also in Taipei City, the Xichun(西村) Borough head of Xinyi District (信義區) invited Tzu Chi volunteers to take part in a second-hand charity sale on December 8th, in which the proceeds went to various charity organizations.

在台灣台北市，信義區西村里的里長，在12月8號，邀請慈濟志工參與一場，二手商品的義賣會，而義賣會所得，也全部捐贈給慈善機構。

After Thailand experienced severe flooding last year, Tzu Chi volunteers organized hot meal distributions in Banplab Township of Ayutthaya Province. At the end of this year, volunteers once again visited the township, bringing 20kilo bag of rice to every care recipient and seniors above 60 years of age. We will leave you with these images. In the United States, in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, the Tzu Chi New York Chapter continues to carry out relief distributions and care for survivors from various backgrounds. This time around, Tzu Chi volunteers handed out cash cards to the Muslim community in Brooklyn.

美國桑迪風災過後，慈濟紐約分會持續針對不同背景的受災戶進行發放關懷，這次來到布魯克林區的伊斯蘭教社區發放現值卡。


2.雙和歲末花絮Challenging year-end ceremony

As this year is coming to an end, Tzu Chi`s year-end blessing ceremonies are being held throughout Taiwan. In New Taipei City`s Zhonghe (中和) and Yonghe (永和) District, Tzu Chi volunteers held their community year-end ceremony on December 14th, where they provided live coverage to all partcipants.

年底即將來臨，而多場的慈濟歲末祝福在台灣展開，在新北市中永和區，慈濟志工在12月14號舉辦社區歲末祝福，還提供現場轉播服務。


3.義烏社區共修Turning room into local retreat

Moving to China, in Zhenjiang(浙江) Province, Wang Jianyou(王建有) who runs a hair accessory gift company, came to Taiwan this year, to take part in the volunteer training program in Hualien. Upon returning home, he threw himself into Tzu Chi`s work, and also offered his house as a local retreat for Tzu Chi`s recycling and training activities.

王建有在浙江義烏經營髮飾禮品公司，今年參加花蓮的志工培訓，回到家鄉中國，他不單是做環保，也把自家提供出來做為社區共修處，做為做環保和舉辦活動用。


4.喜出網外(三)成癮預防針Vaccine for Internet addiction

Is there a cure to Internet addiction? Experts say, the best way to prevent Internet addiction is for your child to find a hobby or interest they love. In continuing our series on Internet addiction, we meet the director of Psy-chia-try Department at the Kaohsiung(高雄) Mu-ni-ci-pal Hsiaokang(小港) Hospital, Dr. Ke (柯), to hear what he has to say about curing Internet addiction. Dr. Ke(柯), for con-fi-den-tiality reasons, has opted to remain off camera during our interviews. Let`s take a look.

5.北慈永續健康Awarded the Sustainable Health Award

Recently, the Cardiology Department at the Taipei Tzu Chi General Hospital, was awarded the Sustainable Health Award from the Department of Health. Thanks to its director, Huang Xuanli(黃玄禮), and his team, 460 patients that suffered from arte-rio scle-rosis in their lower body, were able to make a full recovery.

最近 台北慈濟醫院心臟內科團隊，獲得健保局永續健康獎的肯定，在黃玄禮主任和醫療團的努力下，460位罹患下肢動脈硬化的病患能拾回健康。


6.360紀錄片Documentary directors

The director plays an important role in the production of a successful film, with documentary films being particularly difficult to make, as film makers will come across all different situations and need to be flexible, as well as build a good relationship with their crew. In today`s feature report on Taiwan`s unique trades, we meet two documentary directors and learn of the hard work that goes into producing a documentary, as well as the challenges that arise along the way.

導演扮演統籌核心的角色，不過又以紀錄片更特別，因為拍攝會有很多突發狀況，也要跟攝影團隊建立良好的信任關係，在今天的真情臉譜專題，我們來認識兩位紀錄片導演，了解製作紀錄片的辛苦，以及過程中會遇到的挑戰。

Staying in Taiwan, 35-year-old Li Xinying (李芯穎) is a single mother, who decided to open her own bakery. Although her bakery business has just started and isn`t making much, the flexible hours allows Li (李) to spend quality time with her children - it is something that money can`t buy.

8.洪翠梓愛相隨I am here for you

In our next report, we meet Hong Cuizi(洪翠梓), who is a vocational counselor for the Eden Social Welfare Foundation. For the past year, Hong has accompanied Xiaoma(小馬), who is mentally disabled to work, during which she has taught him, how to take the train and ride a bicycle.

9.養護續關懷Warming the hearts of elders

With Taiwan been hit by a cold front in the past few days, Kaohsiung(高雄) Tzu Chi volunteers visited a nursing home, where they spent some time singing and talking with senior residents. As the nursing home is about to relocate, many residents expressed their worry that they would not see the volunteers again. However, the volunteers reassured them, that no matter where they end up, Tzu Chi will be there.

這幾天氣溫直直落，台灣的慈濟志工前往高雄的養護中心，與老人家互動，現在養護中心即將搬遷，許多院友擔心以後見不到慈濟志工，慈濟人告訴長輩們，無論他們搬到那裡，都會有慈濟人的關懷。

1.湖北冬令發放Winter aid distribution for 279 families

First up in China, Tzu Chi continues to hold winter aid distributions for the needy. Today, we join the volunteers as they visit residents in Chibi(赤壁) City, which is located in the southern part of Hubei(湖北) Province. With the help of local government, Wuhan(武漢) Tzu Chi volunteers handed out rice, cooking oil and warm blankets and clothes to 279 households.

首先來到中國，慈濟基金會繼續進行冬令發放，今天的地點是赤壁市，位於湖北省南部，武漢慈濟志工在當地政府協助下，發放279戶過冬


2.北京敬老關懷Visiting nursing home

Staying in China, over the past 3 years, Tzu Chi volunteers in Beijing, have regularly visited the senior residents at a local nursing home each month. On their latest trip last Sunday, December 16th; as the current temperature is 10 degrees below zero, the volunteers led the seniors in doing finger exercises, and brought new socks in hopes of keeping them warm. The elderly people all agree, they always look forward to these visits from Tzu Chi.

也是中國的報導，北京慈濟志工連續三年，每個月來到敬老院探訪長者，上周日的訪視，僅管溫度是攝氏零下十多度，志工帶著老人家做手指運動，還買新襪子暖和長者的身心，這些長者都很期待慈濟的到訪。


3.上海照顧戶圍爐Year-end gathering for care recipients

As New Year is just around the corner, the Tzu Chi Changfeng(長風) Office in Shanghai(上海) held an year-end gathering, where Tzu Chi care recipients brought their family members to celebrate the coming holiday. At the event, burn victims expressed their gratitude for Tzu Chi`s help, by donating money to help other people in need.

即將邁入新的一年，上海的慈濟長風會所，舉辦照顧戶的歲末圍爐活動，每個家庭都攜家帶眷前來參加，意外燒燙傷的小朋友，表達他們對慈濟的感恩之情，發願投竹筒，行善助人。


4.三重歲末祝福+新店文山歲末Year end blessing ceremonies

Moving to Taiwan, since last week, Northern District Tzu Chi volunteers have held many year-end blessing ceremonies. The most recent year-end blessing ceremony at the Taipei Tzu Chi General Hospital was joined by many media volunteers, who hope to encourage even more people to join their team. Meanwhile, over 1,000 participants attended the ceremony held on December 13th, at the Sanchong(三重) Jing Si Hall. Let`s take a look.

鏡頭轉到台灣，從上個星期開始，台灣北區慈濟志工陸續展開歲末祝福，最近的歲末祝福在台北慈濟醫院展開，更有許多真善美志工在場，因為希望藉此能吸引更多人參與真善美的團隊，同時12月13日，在三重靜思堂的歲末祝福，則有一千多人的參與，讓我們來看看。


5.喜出網外(二)柑仔店網咖The draw of Internet cafe

Many people have played online games before, however, not everyone that plays these games are addicted to them. In similar cases, many also use the Internet for over 10 hours a day at work, yet are not addicted to it either. In today`s Internet addiction series, we take a look how even students from remote townships will frequent Internet cafes, and what students take away from participating in the cyber world. Here`s more.

許多人都有玩電玩的經驗，但卻不是人人都會成癮，許多人每天上網超過十小時，同樣不會成癮，今天「喜出網外」專題報導的鏡頭，帶你看看，為什麼偏鄉部落孩子們也要到網咖 ，還有他們在虛擬世界所得到的是什麼？一起來看看。


6.愛的綠衣天使The kindness of a mail inspector

Next, we bring you a story of love and kindness; a mail inspector of the Yunlin(雲林) Post Office in Dounan(斗南) Township, 64-year-old Yang Siqian(楊四乾) discovered many lonely people on his trips delivering mails. To help, he began purchasing food for the needy out of his own pocket. His kind deeds have moved many of his colleagues to take similar actions; therefore, the Yulin Post Office decided to carry out its first ever winter relief distribution this year.

接著來看一個愛與善的故事，目前服務於雲林斗南郵局，64歲的楊四乾，總在遞送信件的途中，發現有許多孤苦的人，為了幫助他們，他總是是自掏腰包買物資給這些困苦的人，這份善行讓同仁們相當感動，甚至化作行動，雲林郵局開了郵政先河，在今年舉辦了第一次的冬令發放。


7.護理王蘭英Home care nurse, Wang Lanying

When patients with ca-the-ter or naso-gastric tube return home, they often need special care, and family members without the right knowledge, may find it difficult to care for their loved ones. This is when a home care nurse is needed. In our next report, we meet Wang Lanying(王蘭英), who visits 7-8 families a day, to care for these patients with special needs, as well as teach their family members of the things to take note of.

身上留有氣切管、尿管或是鼻胃管的患者，返家後生活起居常需要多花心思，這時就需要居家護理師的協助，今天我們來認識居家護理師王蘭英，一天大約探訪7至8個家庭，協助需要照顧的患者，也叮嚀家人該注意的事項。


8.健康吃湯圓Eating sticky rice balls in a healthy way

In Taiwan, winter sols-tice is celebrated by eating sticky rice balls, yet the seasonal dessert is generally regarded as high-calorie food, with its main ingredient-glutinous rice- being hard to digest. To educate the public on cooking the seasonal dessert in a healthy way, the dietitians and doctors of the traditional Chinese medicine department at Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital, demostrated how to make a rice ball soup that not only helps with digestion, but also has a low calorie count.

在台灣，冬至時節習慣吃湯圓，但湯圓熱量高，且糯米不好消化，為了讓民眾在冬至享用健康湯圓，花蓮慈濟醫院營養師與中醫師，開發出以藥膳為湯底的湯圓，促進腸胃蠕動，且低卡零負擔。


9.360扁擔族Yilan farmer selling in Taipei

In today`s feature reports on Taiwan`s unique trades, we meet septuagenarian farmer Guan Zhongnan(官中南), who travels via train to Taipei every day to sell his vegetables. Guan, like many other farmers in Yilan(宜蘭), grows his own vegetables, before selling them in one of Taipei`s many outdoor traditional markets. Despite his age, the senior farmer is not afraid of the hard work that comes along with his job, and is determined to continue the trade for as long as he can.

在今天的真情臉譜專題中，我們來認識70多歲的官中南，每天坐火車到台北賣青菜，跟許多農夫一樣，官中南自己耕種蔬果之外，還自己到台北的傳統市場賣菜，即使年紀不小了，他不怕工作辛苦，並想要這樣持續工作。

Before the upcoming winter break, 40 students joined Tzu Chi volunteers in Penghu(澎湖) on a trip to the local nursing home. The volunteers and students prepared clay for the seniors to make their own pottery, so that they may exercise their fingers. 1.菲寶發勘災Disaster survey after Typhoon Bopha

In early December, Typhoon Bo-pha struck the Philippines, with the Island of Min-da-na-o being the worst hit. Upon arriving at the disaster sites, Tzu Chi volunteers, saw the devastation caused by the storm. Although the United Nations, has provided rice to the survivors, tents and medicine are still urgently needed. As Tzu Chi volunteers carried out their disaster survey, they also held a free clinic, hoping to provide immediate assistance to the survivors.

12月初，寶發颱風重創菲律賓，南部民答那峨島受創最嚴重，慈濟志工前往勘災，眼前所見是一片狼藉，僅管有聯合國提供米糧，但當地還是欠缺帳棚和醫藥，慈濟志工一邊勘災、一邊義診，希望及時幫助災民。


2.加街友發放+多倫多冬令Distributions to homeless people

In Canada, as the temperature continues to drop, Tzu Chi volunteers carried out, two winter aid distributions for the homeless people. In Toronto, on December 13th, Tzu Chi volunteers prepared hot meals, sleeping bags, gloves and other supplies to 250 people. Meanwhile, their counterparts in Vancouver, distributed 180 packs of relief supplies to the homeless.

加拿大的天氣漸漸轉冷，慈濟志工為街友舉辦了兩場發放，多倫多的慈濟志工在12月13號，除了烹煮熱食，也準備了睡袋、手套等物資，溫暖了兩百五十位街友的身心，溫哥華的慈濟志工也沒有忘記這些街友，為街友們發放一百八十份物資。


3.蘭溪發放個案Bringing relief items to recipients` home

Moving to China, during the winter aid distribution in Zhejiang(浙江) Province, Tzu Chi volunteers arrived at the home of Grandpa Xu Genqing(徐根清), who lives with his wife, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter, in Lanxi(蘭溪) City. This family is not well-off and his granddaughter, has to rely on Tzu Chi`s scholarship, to go to school. On December 16th, the volunteers not only brought relief items, but also helped clean up their living environment.

在中國，慈濟在浙江的冬令發放，志工特地來到徐根清爺爺家，她和老伴、兒媳婦和孫女一起蘭溪，不過家中經濟狀況很不穩定，孫女要靠慈濟助學金才能繼續上學，12月16日志工不僅送來物資，還幫忙打掃居家環境。


4.喜出網外(一)電玩會上癮Internet addiction

In recent years, Internet addiction is on the rise, it is the result of many, never being too far away from a computer or a smart phone. Today we start a new series on Internet addiction, and take a look at, how the Internet is changing lives, for better and for worse.

近年來，網路成癮問題更加嚴重，原因有很多，因為人們現在離不開電腦、智慧型手機，從今天開始我們的專題，帶您一同關心網路影響力，看看網路資源如何改變我們的生活。


5.幸福廚房Love Kitchen to pay it forward

After Typhoon Morakot hit the community of Jingzaitou(井仔頭) in Pingtung(屏東) County, 3 years ago, residents made through the difficult time, and were able to rebuild their homes. , thanks to the love poured in from surrounding communities. Now, residents there, are paying the love forward, by building a Love Kitchen, to provide hot lunches for seniors living nearby.

莫拉克風災造成屏東縣井仔頭社區損失慘重，三年前，全區居民逐漸挺過困境，多虧了鄰里的幫助，為了回報當時的援助，居民打造一個幸福廚房，提供熱食給獨居老人。


6.謝王金鸞追思Memorial service of Xie-Wang Jinluan

Here in Taiwan, Tzu Chi Honorary Board member Xie-Wang Jinluan (謝王金鸞), who is also the mother of Jing Si Abode Master De Geng (德耕) and De Guo(德果), passed away on the evening of December 16th. Tzu Chi volunteers and family members, held a memorial service on the morning of December 17th, in her honor.

慈濟榮譽董事謝王金鸞女士，是靜思精舍德耕法師 ，以及德果法師的俗家母親，在12月16號傍晚往生，慈濟志工和她的家人在12月17號上午，法親為她舉辦追思會。


7.360土仁粿A taste of old-fashioned sweetness

In our feature reports on Taiwan`s sunset industries, we take a look at the owner of one shop in Penghu(澎湖), that makes peanut candy entirely by hand, and without any harmful chemical additives or preservatives. Let`s take a look.

台灣真情臉譜系列報導，我們來到澎湖一家土仁粿店，這些手工的土仁粿毫無添加物，或是防腐劑，一起來看看。


8.關渡+板橋歲末祝福Year-end blessing ceremonies

Recently Tzu Chi volunteers around Taiwan, are holding year-end blessing ceremonies. On December 16th, a year-end blessing ceremony at the Banqiao(板橋) Jing Si Hall, was attended by Yang Yizheng(楊益政) and his sick mother. Meanwhile, at the Tzu Chi Guandu(關渡) Grounds, Tzu Chi volunteers put on a short skit, to bring to life, the story of media volunteer Zhang Yichuan(張義川), who has vowed to spread the Master`s wisdom far and wide.

近來台灣慈濟志工正舉辦著歲末祝福，參與12月16日板橋靜思堂舉辦的歲末祝福是楊益政，一起參與的是他生病的母親，同時在慈濟關渡園區，慈濟志工獻上短劇，講述真善美志工張義川的故事，他說要把上人的法傳播到全球。


9.綠色奇蹟An eco-friendly community

In our next report, we travel to Taichung(台中), Taiwan, to visit a green community, located around the Dadu(大肚) Mountain. To make their community more eco-friendly, residents of the Liquan(立全) Community, made a wind-mill out of recycled materials, collect rain water to irrigate their organic farms, and even decorated the community with recycled items.

1.德州二期動土+募款籌備Expansion of Houston Branch

We kick of the show in the United States, The Tzu Chi Houston Chapter, will be holding two charity concerts, before the end of the year, to raise funds for the expansion, that will include the construction of an assembly hall and a Da Ai Kingergarten. The ground breaking ceremony, took place on December 8th, and was attended by government officials and local businesses.

我們一開始來到美國，慈濟德州分會年尾籌辦兩場「人文饗宴」的募款餐會，為了這次二期工程的籌款，這次的加建包含感恩堂跟大愛幼兒園，二期動土典禮12月8日舉辦，許多政府官員和企業人士也用出席表達認同。


2.浙江武義發放+浙關懷張慧戰Winter aid distribution in Zhejiang

Moving to China, as 2012 is coming to an end, China Tzu Chi volunteers, held a winter aid distribution on December 15th, in Zhejiang(浙江) Province. The event was joined by Shu Chunwu(舒春武), who received Tzu Chi`s help in the past. Meanwhile, the volunteers also visited those, that couldn`t make it to the distribution. Among them was Tzu Chi care recipient Zhang Huizhan(張慧戰), who said that he would like to join the volunteers` ranks, when he recovers from his sickness.

鏡頭轉到中國，2012年即將進入尾聲，12月15日中國慈濟志工來到浙江省舉辦冬令發放，參與這次活動的有前一陣子才接受慈濟幫助的舒春武，另外，志工也拜訪無法來到發放現場的居民，其中一位是照顧戶張慧戰，他說希望自己的身體好了後，也可以加入志工的行列。

3.國道楊梅車禍+24傷送醫Tour bus accident on Highway

In Taiwan, on December 16th, a tour bus accident occurred on Highway 1. Those Nantou(南投) County residents on board, were heading to the Taoyuan(桃園) Airport, to start their five-day holiday tour in Vietnam. All 24 passengers and the bus driver,suffered from major or minor injuries, with one passenger passed away in the accident. The police are still investigating the cause of the incident. Upon receiving the news, Tzu Chi volunteers arrived at hospitals, with much needed emotional support. Here`s more.

在12月16日，台灣國道1號上有遊覽車意外車禍，車上的乘客是即將前往桃園機場的南投居民，要進行5日的越南旅遊，24位乘客還有司機，分別受輕傷或重傷，一位乘客不幸死亡，警察還在繼續調查肇事原因，當聽到消息，慈濟志工分批前往醫院，安慰傷者和家屬。

4.巴生新芽獎(三)Get children to school

Also in Asia, in Klang, Malaysia, many children from poor families are often at risk, of missing out on school, due to a lack of money. To help, Tzu Chi`s New Shoots scholarship program was created, with these children and families in mind. However, volunteers discovered that even if families, were able to pay school tuition, many children could not afford their school bus, or were going to school hungry. Therefore, starting in April of this year, Tzu Chi volunteers have slowly added monthly food and transportation subsidies, into school programs throughout the city.

也是亞洲的報導，在馬來西亞巴生許多窮人家的孩童，因為沒錢無法就學，慈濟新芽獎學金就是為了幫助這些學生而創立，但志工發現在有些孩子無法繳付車費，而且常常餓著肚子去上學，因此在今年的四月，慈濟志工階段性走入一些學校，每月提供交通與食物補助。


5.馬畢典經藏Preschool graduation ceremony

Also in Malaysia, the Kuala Lumpur Da Ai Educare Center, held its 5th graduation ceremony, featuring the musical adaption of the Water Repentance Sutra, which offered the graduates and parents, a chance to repent and cleanse their body and soul. In the ceremony, the graduates were also guided, to express their gratitude, towards their parents.

馬來西亞吉隆玻大愛兒童教育中心，舉辦第五屆畢業典禮，今年的畢業典禮以經藏為主軸，藉由經藏演繹，小朋友和家長一同虔誠懺悔，洗滌身心靈，也引導學生對家長表達感恩之意。


6.巴西下鄉義診Free clinic in slum areas

In Brazil, although medical treatment is free at public hospitals, due to large numbers of locals seeking free treatment, the long waits for an appointment, and the quality of treatment is an issue. To help, Tzu Chi volunteers hold monthly free clinics in slum areas. At a recent free clinic, Tzu Chi volunteers and doctors, provided ultra-sounds and pre-scription glasses, to those in need. Let`s take a look.

在巴西，公立醫院提供免費看病，但因為人潮眾多，不只影響到品質，掛號就要等到一年半載 ，因此慈濟志工每個月定期舉辦義診，走進貧民區 ，在近期的義診，最主要提供超音波以及為需要的民眾配眼鏡，讓我們一起來看看。


7.巴西義診人物Free clinics - behind the scenes

Continue on our last report, Tzu Chi volunteers` dedication in the free clinic, has moved many local residents to join their efforts - like Mario, who has devoted himself, for the past 15 years to volunteer work and has even invited his neighbors to join. At their most recent free clinic, Tzu Chi volunteers arrived at Mario`s neighbourhood in Ja-ba-qua-ra, where local volunteers, took the news crew into their neighborhood, to experience their living conditions.

持續上一則的報導，慈濟在巴西的義診，為居民付出的行動，感動許多當地人，像是一位馬里奧，就一參加十五年，還接引街坊鄰居來參與，這一次義診團隊來到馬里奧居住的貧民區－賈巴瓜拉，當地的志工帶著 新聞採訪團隊走進社區，看看居民的生活狀況。

8.病痛失妻轉念Finding peace in recycling

In Taiwan, Lin Muhuo(林木火) who lives in Taichung`s(台中) Tanzi (潭子) District, was diagnosed with a brain tumor ten years ago. Following brain surgery, he has suffered from pe-ri-odic con-vul-sions. Two years ago, his wife`s death made him so sad, that he cut himself off, from the outside world. Learning of his situation, Tzu Chi volunteers started paying him regular visits, and also encouraged him to become a recycling volunteer. Through the practice of recycling, Lin disovered that he no longer, suffers from convulsions and has also found a peaceful state of mind.

家住台灣台中市潭子區的林木火，十年前罹患腦瘤，接受開腦手術後，經常癲癇抽搐發作，兩年前太太病逝，他相當憂鬱，足不出戶，慈濟志工列為居家關懷戶，時時開導，並且鼓勵林木火投入環保行列，透過做環保，不但癲癇不再發作，也轉了心念，快樂做志工。

9.汕頭環保Recycling day at Puning District

In China, the recycling day at the Tzu Chi Puning(普寧) Liaison Office in Guangdong(廣東) Province is always joined by many local residents, as many re-discover a sense of happiness through recycling. The recent recycling day on December 9th, was also joined by volunteer Wu Feng(五鳳), who`s husband was originally against Tzu Chi. Luckily, after discovered the good deeds, Tzu Chi has carried out in the past, Wu`s husband decided to let her continue to walk the Tzu Chi path.

在中國廣東，普寧聯絡處舉辦的環保日，總是有許多當地居民參與，因為許多人從做環保找回快樂，最近12月9日的環保日，則有志工五鳳的參與，五鳳的先生原本不贊成她加入慈濟，但知道慈濟所做的好事情後，決定讓她繼續走菩薩道。

Moving back to the United States at the end of the show, as Christmas is just around the corner, On December 15th, Tzu Chi volunteers at the Dallas Tzu Chi Chapter, held a charity sale, featuring vegetarian food. 1.美匹茲堡冬令+美華森維爾Christmas is here

As Christmas is just around the corner, US Tzu Chi volunteers organized two winter aid distributions in the City of Watsonville and A-li-quip-pa. Volunteers at Watsonville handed out 86 Christmas gifts to needy families. While a church pastor in Aliquippa said that, he was deeply moved by the volunteers` gestures of love.

耶誕節即將到來，美國慈濟志工分別在華森維爾市和阿利酷帊市，舉辦兩場冬令發放，在華森維爾市，志工送出86件禮物給需要的家庭，同時在阿利酷帊市，一座教堂的牧師則說，看到志工的付出，他相當的感動。


2.黃金海岸發放Distributions in Gold Coast

Since a series of flood devastated Australia in January last year, Gold Coast Tzu Chi volunteers have continued to support and care for residents and schools in Ipswich. In the past two months, volunteers organized year-end food distributions, where they also fundraised for Hurricane Sandy victims in the United States.

去年一月澳洲發生大水患，黃金海岸慈濟志工持續在伊普市社區，和幾所學校進行關懷與陪伴，過去兩個月，志工進行了多場的歲末食物發放，同時也為美東的災民募款。


3.警專義賣援美Raising funds for Sandy survivors

To help the survivors of Hurricane Sandy in the United States, students and Tzu Chings at a police college in Taiwan, held a bake sale in which the proceeds will be donated to help those in need. Inside each bag of cookies being sold, the students placed different Jing Si Aphorisms cards. Let`s take a look.

援助美東風災災民，警察專科學校慈青社舉辦手工餅乾義賣活動，每一包餅乾裡特地放入靜思語，一起來看看。


4.登嘉樓無量義(三)Embracing meatless diet

In Malaysia, the musical adaptation of the Sutra of In-nu-me-ra-ble Meanings, recently ended on a perfect note. Throughout the 10 performances, Tzu Chi volunteers worked closely with a local sound control company. Thanks to the performances, the staff at the company started to embrace a meatless diet and, were even inspired to be more filial towards their parents.

在馬來西亞，清淨大愛無量義公演，最近圓滿落幕，十場的表演，慈濟和一家音控公司長期合作，因為看了表演，工程人員開始吃素食，更決定要更孝順父母。

5.馬肝炎洗腎機Expanding dialysis centre in Butterworth

Staying in Malaysia, the Tzu Chi Butterworth Dialysis Center, officially opened in 2002. In order to offer their services to more patients in need, expansion work on the centre began this October. The new dialysis centre is expected to occupy 2 floors, which will hold 51 dialysis machines, including 3 for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C patients.

也是馬來西亞的報導，2002年，北海慈濟洗腎中心啟用，為了增加洗腎服務，北海慈濟洗腎中心在2012年10月開始擴建，新的洗腎中心預計將有兩層樓作為洗腎中心，可容納51台洗腎機，其中包括3台B型和C型肝炎的洗腎機，來服務更多腎友。


6.懿德有愛Yide mother, Lin Rujin

Next, we meet Tzu Chi volunteer, Lin Rujin(林如金), a busy woman joggling her time between work and home, and still manages to be a Yide(懿德) mother at the Tzu Chi College of Technology. To thank her for her unselfish devotion, the Ministry of Education presented her with an award, in hopes of encouraging her to continue the good work.

慈濟志工林如金是名會計，上班回家還要做家事、照顧兒女，不過她善用時間，擔任慈濟技術學院的懿德媽媽，無私的付出榮獲教育部今年頒發的百分百教育愛榮耀。


7.陳素珍感恩Life of Chen Suzhen

In Nantou`s(南投) Puli(埔里), Chen Suzhen(陳素珍) is a Tzu Chi volunteer who suffered many mishaps in her life. The continuous mishaps left Chen devastated, yet thanks to Tzu Chi and Master Cheng Yen`s dharma, Chen Suzhen(陳素珍) gradually took on the Bodhisattva path and left her misery behind.

南投埔里的慈濟志工陳素珍，一生命運多舛，無常打擊一個接一個，陳素珍感恩自己有緣走入慈濟，是上人的法讓她有力量面對，慢慢轉念走出傷痛。


8.環保楊王篤Recycling volunteer, Yang-Wang Du

In Taiwan`s New Taipei City, recycling volunteer, 73-year-old Yang-Wang Du(楊王篤) from Banqiao(板橋) has been devoted to recycling work for the past 14 years. Despite being a diabetes patient, and suffering from a minor stroke, nothing has stopped this senior from collecting and sorting recyclables each and every day.

在台灣新北市，住在板橋73歲的環保志工楊王篤，過去14年來投入環保工作，即使患有糖尿病，還有輕微中風，阿嬤還是堅持每一天都出去撿回收、做環保。


9.360茶壺醫生Clay teapot maker

Yixing (宜興) clay teapots is an umbrella term for teapots made dating back to the 15th century in China and, such teapots are still made today. When treasured teapots are chipped or cracked, collectors will often send them out for repairs. One master repairer is Zeng Zhengming(曾政銘), who takes the time to find the right color clay, and the right temperature for firing, to match and mend the cracks to perfection.

宜興茶壺，是中國15世紀做的茶壺所表示的代名詞，這種茶壺今天還有愛茶者所養，萬一稍有破損，收藏家就需要茶壺醫生來修補，一位茶壺補修達人是曾政銘，他會細心的找出色澤相仿的陶土，跟適合窯燒溫度 ，才能將受損的痕跡完全掩蓋，我們來看看 曾政銘是怎麼做的。


10.魚鰭刺傷感染Infectious seafood bacteria

Most of us have probably heard of vi-brio vul-ni-fi-cus, a bacteria in seafood that can spread through consumption of seafood or contact through open wounds. The infection, if not taken care of properly, may lead to sep-ti-ce-mia and eventually death. Recently, another kind of bacteria, known as motile aero-mo-nads, has been discovered to be just as poisonous. Mr. Chen from Taichung, was pricked by a freshwater fish and did not take note of the wound. Luckily, he was treated in time and escaped death.

大多數人都聽過海洋弧菌，透過食用海鮮或是傷口感染，這樣的細菌如果沒有處理好，可能會感染潰爛，引發敗血症危及性命，最近出現了另外一種病菌，叫做親水性產氣單胞菌，同樣的可怕，台中的陳先生，不小心被淡水魚刺傷手指，沒有多照顧、處裡，幸好及時到醫院搶救挽回一命。

●Coming up in today’s show, Tzu Chi volunteers in China are helping underprivileged students continue with their studies throug the Spring Buds program.

●The Hualien Tzu Chi General Hospital is receiving awards, for creating a smoke-free environment and a healthy working lifestyle.

●And, after getting in touch with nature, 72-year-old Hong Gen(洪根), a cancer patient proves his doctor’s prognosis wrong.

1. 蘇北春蕾助學 Helping needy students in China

First up in China; since 2007, Tzu Chi volunteers in Shanghai(上海), have been taking part in a local program, the Spring Buds, held in northern Jiangsu(江蘇) Province, to help needy students finish their schooling. This year, in Suqian(宿遷) City, 259 students received scholarship support. To reciprocate, the students later volunteered to help out at winter aid distributions.

首先來到中國，上海慈濟志工，從2007年開始參與蘇北地區春蕾計劃，幫助貧困學生完成學業，今年在宿遷市有259位學生接受幫忙，同學們更進一步要回報，在這次的冬令發放都要出來做志工。

2. 河北暖陽(3)中國志工 Devoted TC volunteers

Over the past 2 days, we have joined Tzu Chi volunteers in China, as they carried out their series of winter aid distributions in Yi(易) County, Hebei(河北) Province. At this year’s distributions, apart from Tzu Chi volunteers, people from all walks of life joined the event, to contribute their share to help those in need. The distributions were all organized and planned by China Tzu Chi volunteers. Among them was 37-year-old Zhang Lian(張連), one of the first volunteer in Tianjin’s(天津) Ji(薊) County, who met the Buddhist NGO in 2010, and was certified this November. Meanwhile, Beijing(北京) Tzu Chi volunteer, Liu Yi(劉毅), has put his dream of living a luxurious life behind him, to devote himself to serving others.

過去兩天來，我們跟著中國慈濟志工一起到河北省易縣展開冬令發放，今年的發放除了慈濟志工還有來自當地各行各業的人全都來付出自己的心力，中國慈濟志工承擔和規畫，其中37歲的張連在2010年認識慈濟之後，今年11月終於受證，成為天津薊縣第一顆種子，另外北京志工劉毅，放下過去追求名利的生活，投入志工的行列，幫助困苦人家。


3. 馬照顧戶清居Volunteers help to clean up house

In Penang, Malaysia, Tzu Chi volunteers helped one care recipient, Mrs. Chen(陳) clean up her house. After her husband passed away a year ago, the widow has been buried in grief and has disregarded all household chores. To help, over 10 Tzu Chi volunteers assisted the family clean up their home, in hopes of helping Mrs. Chen overcome her loss.

在馬來西亞的檳城，慈濟志工幫助照顧戶清理房子，陳女士的先生 一年前因病往生，無法走出喪夫之痛的她無心整理家務，十多位檳城的慈濟志工幫她做個大掃除，希望整潔環境能讓她改變心情。

4. 登嘉樓無量義(二) Performance in Terengganu

The last of a series of musical performances, of the Sutra of In-nu-me-rable Meanings in Malaysia, is held in Te-reng-ga-nu, an area that only has 57 training volunteers. To ensure the sign language performance was a success, many volunteers took part in the musical with their family members.

馬來西亞，清淨大愛無量義公演最後一站 來到登嘉樓州，當地培訓志工只有57位，所以為了完成這次的公演很多志工都是全家出動。

5. 花慈健康促進 Hualien TC Hospital receives awards

Recently, Hualien(花蓮) Tzu Chi General Hospital, held a year-end celebration event, to present their year long effort, at keeping the hospital a smoke-free environment, and encouraging the staff to maintain a healthy body. The staff’s efforts did not go un-noticed as the hospital was given an award of excellence, by the Taipei Department of Health.

最近，慈濟醫院推動一年的健康促進，以及無菸環境的行動，經過全院的努力，更得到績優職場健康領航獎的肯定。

6. 紀邦杰好人好事 Good Deed Representative award

On December 12th, the 2012 Good Deed Representatives award ceremony took place in Taiwan. Among the 32 awardees were entrepreneurs, policemen, doctors and others who have remain dedicated to their cause, serving the public till this day. One of them, Dr. Ji Bangjie (紀邦杰), has practiced medicine for over 40 years, and has helped countless residents in remote areas. It is this spirit for which he was also awarded the “Eight Virtues Award” - the highest honor receivable.

全國好人好事代表在12月12號舉行頒獎表揚典禮，32位獲獎人有企業家、警察、醫師，以及其他默默付出的人，他們數十年如一日服務人群，其中是紀邦杰醫師行醫之路超過40年，他的慈悲與奉獻跨足偏鄉和山區，他的精神使他榮獲最高榮譽，八德獎獎座。


7. 360字畫維修 Chinese painting restorer

When visiting a museum, we see paintings that are hundreds or sometimes thousands of years old; however, what happens when a painting cracks or creases? In today’s report on Taiwan’s unique trades, we bring you the story of Chinese painting restorer, Lin Huansheng(林煥盛), who combines skillful hands and a knowledge of ancient history, to repair old works of art for posterity.

我們到博物館就可以欣賞流傳百年甚至是千年以上的文物藝品，如果這些物品破損或皺褶怎麼辦? 今天我們介紹一位書畫修復師林煥盛，經過他以雙巧手修補後，一幅破損的畫作重獲新生。

8. 與大地共舞(3) Hong Gen’s fight against cancer

In our next report we travel to Taiwan’s Qingshui(清水) District in Taichung City, to meet 72-year-old Hong Gen(洪根). 4 years ago, Hong(洪) was diagnosed with liver and colon cancer and was given only a year to live. Determined to put his remaining time to the fullest, Hong(洪) spent much of his time in the mountains planting trees and shrubs. Not only did this time prove to be spiritually fulfilling, but the constant contact with nature helped Hong(洪) beat his doctor’s prog-no-sis and now several years later, he is still alive and healthy.

與大地共舞系列報導，今天帶大家到台中清水，認識72歲的洪根老先生，四年前同時罹患大腸癌和肝癌，醫師判定他只剩下一年的壽命，洪根便在接受治療之餘還到山上種植花草，最後不但心靈充實，長期接觸大自然下來還多活了好幾年，健康狀況也越來越好。


9. 巴西耶誕禮物Celebrating Christmas with children

As Christmas is right around the corner, Tzu Chi volunteers in Brazil traveled to Fran-cis-co Mor-a-to City, where they handed out gifts to children from the city’s slum area. In addition to lollies and stuffed animals, the volunteers also handed out new sports shoes to the older children. Many of the gifts were donated by local businesses, while gift-wrapping was handled by local volunteers. Thanks to the efforts of everyone involved, the children enjoyed a Christmas celebration of a lifetime.

耶誕節即將到來，巴西慈濟志工前往福仁西斯哥莫拉多市為貧民區的小朋友帶來禮物，包括了糖果、玩具還有男生期待的新球鞋，許多禮物則是由當地的商人捐贈，打包則是社區志工來負責，因為大家的付出讓小朋友能享受到耶誕的氣息。

1. 馬偕關懷 Help with accident victims

First up, we get an update on the bus accident, in Hsinchu’s Jianshi(尖石) Township on December 9th, which have killed 13 and injured another 10. Some of the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the Mackay Memorial Hospital in Hsinchu(新竹). Tzu Chi volunteers brought consolation cash and good luck ornaments to visit both the victims and their families.

節目的一開始，我們來看看，在 12月9 日造成13人死亡10受傷的，新竹尖石的翻車意外的後續消息，目前有些傷患在新竹的馬偕醫院，慈濟志工 送來慰問金和平安吊飾，安撫家屬和病患。


2. 菲199牙科義診 199th dental clinic for Quezon City

Next in the Philippines, Tzu Chi volunteers held their 199th dental clinic on December 5th, in Barangay Santo Domingo of Quezon City, where residents young and old seized the opportunity to receive their check-ups. The dental clinic helped a total of 84 patients resolve their prolonged dental problems.

接下來，在菲律賓12月5日慈濟志工在計順市聖多明哥里舉辦第199次牙科義診，大人、小孩都把握這難得的機會趕快來看診，這次幫助84位病患解決門面的問題。


3. 人醫外勞健診 Health checkup for foreign workers

In Taiwan, over the past 9 years, the Department of Labor, Taipei City Government and the TIMA medical team have been working together, to hold regular health checkups for foreign workers. At the end of this year, the health checkup was once again held in the lobby of Taipei Main Station, where the TIMA medical staff provided various medical services.

在台灣過去的九年以來，台北市勞工局和慈濟人醫會，長期合辦外籍勞工健康關懷，今年最後一場的健診服務，一樣在台北火車站舉行，提供不同科別照護外籍勞工。


4. 照顧戶醫腳 TIMA doctor helps care recipients

Also caring for those suffering from illness, are Tzu Chi volunteers and TIMA medical staff in Taichung’s Fengyuan(豐原) District, who visited 2 care recipients with wounds in their legs unable to recover due to long-term illness. Moved by Tzu Chi’s love, the two vows to pay the love forward one day.

也是關心關心病患的報導，在台灣的台中豐原，當地志工特別和人醫會醫師訪視，兩位長期以來因為疾病造成雙腳的傷口始終好不了的慈濟照顧戶，受到慈濟愛的關懷所感動，也發願有一天也要有所付出。


5. 蘇北冬令復勘 Winter aid distribution in China

Moving to China, in Suqian(宿遷) City, north of Jiangsu(江蘇) Province, Tzu Chi volunteers have been caring for the poor residents by providing cataract surgery and scholarship support to needy students. Recently, the volunteers are planning to conduct winter aid distributions, in 6 different locations, to help over 10,000 families. To inform the residents of the upcoming events, the volunteers visited local community members door to door.

來到中國，在江蘇北部的宿遷市，慈濟志工在此長期關懷，幫助老人進行白內障手術，還有學金發放協助輟學生，而在冬天到來時，志工計劃在六個地點進行冬令發放，預計有一萬多戶接受到幫助，在發放前志工也走進農村，親自傳達這個好消息。


6. 河北暖陽(2)安格莊鄉 Winter distribution continues in Hebei

After Tzu Chi volunteers in Hebei(河北) Province, held a winter aid distribution in Niugang(牛岡) Township, Yi(易) County, they traveled to Angezhuang(安格莊) Township, to continue their charity work. As this is the first time Tzu Chi is holding a distribution here, upon receiving rice, flour, blankets and other daily necessities, residents were deeply moved and grateful that they don’t have to worry about the coming New Year.

慈濟志工來到河北省易縣牛岡鄉舉辦冬令發放後，他們來到了安格莊鄉舉辦另一場發放，這次是第一次慈濟基金會首度走入，送來米、麵粉、棉襖、棉被等等物資，讓鄉親們能有個溫飽的一年，來到易縣安格莊鄉的易水湖，可以看到這裡美麗的景色，每到秋冬春夏綠蔭風貌轉為乾枯荒涼。


7. 登嘉樓無量義(一) Last performance in Terengganu

Since 2009, Malaysia Tzu Chi volunteers have been performing, the musical adaption of the “Sutra of In-nu-me-rable Meanings”. Recently, the volunteers held their last performance at Te-reng-ga-nu. Even though 95 percent of the local residents are Muslims, the volunteers were still able to encourage nearly 2,000 people to participate.

從2009年，馬來西亞慈濟志工，從檳城展開第一場，清淨、大愛、無量義公演，最後一站來到登嘉樓州，這個地區百分之九十五的民眾都是回教徒，但志工還是邀約近兩千人參加。


8. 360粧佛 Taiwan’s Buddha statue craftsman

The process of carving a Buddha statue is tedious work, from choosing the right material to detailing the face and features, as well as adding color to the piece. It’s often a long and lonely path for these craftsman, who need to have much patience to finish a piece. Today, we bring you the story of Wang Shiji(王仕吉), who has been crafting Buddha statues for the past 30 years, and the message of enlightenment that he has learned in that time.

木雕佛像的過程繁複，選木材、細細雕琢最後還得上色，這是一條很漫長孤獨的路，因此粧佛師需要很有耐心，今天我們帶你來看，做木雕神像 將近三十年的粧佛師王仕吉的故事，以及藉由粧佛得到修行的啟發。


9. 與大地共舞(2) Environmental warrior, Lai Beiyuan

In our next report we stay in Taiwan and go to the area around Taichung to meet Lai Beiyuan.(賴倍元) Formally a successful businessman in the cargo industry, Lai Beiyuan(賴倍元) became concerned about the impact his business was having on the environment. Therefore, at the age of 31, he began purchasing land near Daxue(大雪) Mountain National Forest in Taichung, on which he has personally planted 280,000 trees, over the past 28 years, reforesting 10 mountains. Here’s more.

●In China, Xiamen(廈門) Tzu Chi volunteers, are visiting the home of 22-year-old Lingling(玲玲), and helping her clean up her house.

●And, in today’s feature reports on Taiwan’s unique trades, we meet a group of women, who is creating em-broid-ery artwork, using the sewing machines.

1. 尖石翻車傷亡後續 退休警罹難 Providing care to bus accident victims

In Taiwan, following the bus accident in Jianshi (尖石) Township, Hsinchu(新竹) County, on December 9th, 13 people have been confirmed dead. While the authorities have yet to determine the cause of the accident, it is suspected, that it may have been caused, by a stalled engine. The 22 passengers on board, were all members of the alumni association, of Taishan(泰山) Elementary School, in New Taipei City. The tragedy killed three married couples, while four other people, lost either their husband or wife. Let’s take a look.

在台灣，來關心最近在新竹尖石鄉發生的翻車事件，12月9日 13名遊客喪命，意外發生的原因目前還正在調查，疑似是引擎熄火所造成的，車上的22名乘客都是新北市泰山國小校友，這次的意外奪走了三對夫妻的性命，還有四對夫妻卻陰陽永隔，讓我們來看看。

2. 阿里山傷患關懷 Alishan tour bus accident

Also in Taiwan, another tour bus accident, took place in Alishan(阿里山) of Chiayi(嘉義) County, on December 10th. Fortunately, injuries sustained by those 16 passengers on the bus, were not life-threatening. The victims were sent to two separate hospitals, where Tzu Chi volunteers, arrived with much need emotional support.

同樣在台灣，阿里山山區發生遊覽車翻覆意外造成16人受傷，傷患被送往兩間醫院，慈濟志工也抵達醫院給予膚慰。

3. 長灘島發放 Continue assistance in New Jersey

To care for survivors of Hurricane Sandy, Tzu Chi volunteers from the Tzu Chi New Jersey Chapter, carried out the 10th aid distribution on Long Beach Island. Besides relief items and cash cards, the volunteers also brought love and care to the survivors.

為了幫助美東桑迪風災的援助工作，慈濟新澤西分會在長灘島舉辦風災後的第十場發放，除了物資與現值卡的幫助，志工同理心的愛與關懷也溫暖了受災鄉親的心。

4. 廈門冬令初訪 Volunteers assist helpless family

Preparations for winter aid distributions have begun, and are well underway here in Xiamen(廈門), China. During the initial survey, Tzu Chi volunteers came across the home, of 22-year-old Lingling(玲玲), who suffers from mental disability, and lives with her father and uncle, in an apartment filled with clutter; their living environment was extremely dirty. On December 9th, Tzu Chi volunteers arrived, to help this family clean their home.

中國慈濟志工在廈門，將展開冬令發放活動，在事前訪視時，發現一位二十二歲的周玲玲患有重度智能障礙，和爸爸以及伯父住在公寓裡環境髒亂，在12月9日志工特地再訪協助清掃工作。

5. 河北暖陽(1) 易縣牛崗探訪 Extending Tzu Chi’s love to the needy

Tzu Chi first began its charity work in China after the severe flooding in the east of the country in 1991, and its principle of “Direct, Focused and Respectful” when carrying out relief work, slowly gained the country’s recognition. In 2006, Tzu Chi volunteers began holding regular winter aid distributions and free clinics, in the poorest areas of China, including Laiyuan(淶源) County, Hebei(河北) Province.This year, Tzu Chi volunteers in Taiwan, worked with their counterparts in China, and held a series of winter aid distributions in Yi(易) County. Apart from handing out packs of relief supplies, volunteers also remembered to make door to door visits, to the residents, and learned of the difficult lives of these villagers.

慈濟基金會在大陸賑災援助，自1991年華中華東大水患開啟因緣，基於直接、重點、尊重、原則，慈濟大愛精神逐漸獲得認同，2006年愛的足跡 跨及大陸一級貧困縣、河北省淶源縣，從此開展冬令發放與義診服務。 今年，台灣結合大陸當地慈濟志工，來到易縣四鄉發放過冬物資，關懷腳步同步啟動，走入牛崗鄉，挨家挨戶進行探訪，發現村民的生活都相當辛苦。

6. 360電繡 Sewing machine embroidery

Children who study in Taiwan must take their school uniforms to get their school ID or name em-bro-ider-ed on them. This seasonal job is usually done by family sewing workshops, but during the off-season, a group of women have challenged themselves, to create works of art with their needlework. This field of artwork has blossomed into a new hobby for some.

學生在台灣唸書時必須拿著制服繡學號，這份季節性的工作通常是由家庭代工來執行，可是在淡季時，這一群中年婦女就挑戰用同樣的縫紉機，繡出富有藝術感的作品成為一股新興行業風潮。

7. 與大地共舞(1) Planting trees to save the planet

Xu Guozheng(許國政), the owner of a metal processing plant, used to be so busy that he never had the chance to enjoy and appreciate the beauty of living. However, in the wake of the devastating 9/21 Earthquake, he began flipping through the Jing Si publications, his wife brought home. The words of Master Cheng Yen taught him the importance of cherishing and preserving Mother Earth. Inspired to take action, Xu has planted over 500 trees, and motivated friends to join his efforts, in safeguarding the planet.

許國政是一名金屬加工廠的老闆，曾經為了打拼事業錯過了身邊的美好事物，在九二一地震當時，許國政無意間翻閱到 證嚴 上人的衲履足跡，體會護林種樹的重要性，不但種植了五百多棵樹木，還帶動山友加入善待土地的行列。

Moving to Canada at the end of the show, to help some underprivileged indigenous people in Vancouver, Tzu Chi volunteers held a winter aid distribution that provided them with warm jackets and daily necessities. 1. 尖石翻車 新竹慈濟關懷 TW tour bus accident leaves 13 dead

Over the weekend, a tragic accident occurred in Hsinchu(新竹), Taiwan, where a medium sized bus, plunged into a valley in Jianshi(尖石) Township, at 3pm on December 9th, leading to the deaths of 13 passengers, and injuring another 10. The 22 passengers on board, were all members of the alumni association of Taishan(泰山) Elementary School, in New Taipei City. Over 100 volunteers in Hsinchu(新竹) were mobilized to care for the survivors and be-reaved family, and prepared hot meals and ginger tea for the rescue workers.

上周末，在台灣新竹發生悲劇車禍，一台中型巴士在12月9日下午三點於尖石山區整車翻落，造成13人不幸罹難 另外10人輕重傷，乘客都是新北市泰山國小的校友，超過100位慈濟志工動員，前往醫院安慰傷患及家屬並為工作人員提供熱食。

2. 菲156次義診 TIMA’s 156th free clinic

In the Philippines, Chiang Kai Shek College Alumni Association in Manila, invited TIMA doctors to join them on a free clinic, for ophthalmological patients. For TIMA doctors in the Philippines, this was the 156th free clinic.

在菲律賓馬尼拉中正學院校友會，邀請慈濟人醫會參加眼科的義診活動，這也是菲律賓人醫會第156次義診活動。

3. 劉川慈小啟用 甘肅若笠發放 TC shows love to Gansu Province

China Tzu Chi volunteers, have continued to distribute winter aid supplies, to families in need in Jingyuan(靖遠) Township, Gansu(甘肅) Province. With the help of many local volunteers, the supplies were efficiently handed out. Also in Gansu(甘肅) Province, a new elementary school was established in Liuchuan(劉川) Township. This school will offer students an education with Tzu Chi’s humanitarian spirit.

慈濟志工繼續發放過冬物資給甘肅若笠鄉居民，這次因為有多位鄉親的幫助，物資發放的速度加快，而在甘肅的劉川鄉慈濟建了一所新小學，要讓孩子認識慈濟的人文。

4. 巴西水災發放 Handing out relief items & Christmas gifts

In Brazil, I-ta-pe-vi City, Sao Paulo, was flooded in November, thus, Tzu Chi volunteers conducted a relief distribution to help the flood victims. As Christmas is around the corner, the volunteers also prepared Christmas gifts for the children.

巴西聖保羅州伊達卑咪市，在十一月時發生水災，慈濟志工特地前往發放，尤其耶誕節即將到來也準備了耶誕禮物送給小朋友。

5. 馬新芽頒獎 1st New Shoots Scholarship award ceremony

Moving to Malaysia, on December 9th, the Tzu Chi Malacca Chapter held the first New Shoots Scholarship award ceremony. This program rewards students for scholastic achievement, filial piety, full attendance and academic improvement, among other things. The volunteers hope that, with their encouragement, the students can not only achieve good grades but also practice good behavior.

轉到馬來西亞，在12月9日慈濟馬六甲分會舉辦了首屆新芽獎學金頒發典禮，這次分別有 品德、孝悌全勤、進步等等，志工希望透過鼓勵，學生不但可以在學業上繼續努力，更把好品行落實到生活中。

6. 馬六甲新芽獎(六) A story behind each scholarship recipient

Also in Malaysia, behind each New Shoots Scholarship recipient, is a moving and inspiring story of determination and willpower, despite hardship. 9-year-old Sha-ha-dat’s father passed away this April from a heart attack. Since then, he has stepped into his father’s shoes, taking on the responsibility of looking after the household, and also helping his mother at their stall. Because of he action, he was nominated for the filial piety scholarship award.

在馬來西亞，每一位新芽獎學金得主的背後都有一個令人省思的故事， 9歲的沙哈達爸爸在2012年四月因為心臟病往生，他小小年紀就要代替爸爸負起照顧家庭生活的責任，每天幫媽媽擺攤位做生意，沙哈達的孝心讓他獲得慈濟馬六甲分會獎學金孝悌獎的推薦。

7. 教養跟智慧(五) Students inspire parents to volunteer

Tainan(台南) Tzu Chi Senior High School, is known for its humanistic education, which not only influences students but also parents. Two brothers who enrolled in the school five years ago, not only made the tea ceremony tradition a part of their daily lives, but also motivated their parents to become volunteers. The Tzu Chi spirit has truly inspired this family.

臺南慈濟高中的人文教育，不僅讓學生耳濡目染，同時也帶動了家長，五年前，兩位兄弟不僅把學校學習的茶道融入生活中，還帶動父母親加入志工的行列，慈濟的精神真正深入這個家庭。

8. 大愛感恩四年 Happy birthday DA.AI Technology

To celebrate its 4th birthday this year, DA.AI Technology held a fashion show to display its latest designs, featuring Tzu Chi volunteers and family members as models. The spotlight item of course was Tzu Chi’s eco-friendly blanket, which are often given to disaster victims at the organization’s international relief work.

大愛感恩科技過四歲生日，今天有場服裝設計回顧走秀，搶眼的還是 援助賑災用的，由寶特瓶製作成的環保毛毯。

9. 加助小學圓夢 A trip to the aquarium

In Canada, to give underprivileged students at the Admiral Seymour Elementary School, a chance to learn about Mother Nature, Tzu Chi volunteers organized a field trip to the Vancouver Aquarium. Upon seeing the sea animals, the students were very excited and happy.

在加拿大，為了讓西蒙小學的困苦學生也有機會了解大自然，慈濟志工決定帶他們到溫哥華的海洋館，看到這些海洋動物學生們非常興奮和開心。

10. 美花車裝飾 Rose Parade float honors donors

With a history of over 100 years, the Rose Parade, which takes place annually in California, has attracted over one million viewers and participants. Tzu Chi and Donate Life have collaborated, decorating floats to commemorate organ donors. On December 1st, family members of donors gathered to lend a helping hand in the decoration efforts.

在美國加州，有一百多年歷史的玫瑰花車遊行，吸引超過百萬名的觀眾，慈濟志工和器捐組織合作花車布置工作紀念器捐者，許多器捐者的家屬也來一起幫忙 緬懷親愛的家人。

Moving back to Taiwan at the end of the show, 25 medical staff from the Fuding(福鼎) Hospital in China, visited the Jing Si Hall in Kaohsiung(高雄) City. The medical staff were surprised when they saw senior volunteers cleaning up the place and even took photos with the volunteers to record the special encounter. We will leave you with these images.
