Tzu Chi Hospitals in Taiwan”s Taipei and Taichung are among the 15 hospitals in the country to receive an outstanding grade for the accreditation of their Chinese medicine departments.
And, we have a featured report on the origin of Tzu Chi in the Islamic country of Jordan in the Middle East.

Tzu Chi volunteers regularly hold mobile dental clinics, for the poor residents in the Philippines. In our first story today, we join volunteers on a visit to Marikina and Mandaluyong City, where they held the 132nd and 134th dental clinics.
菲律賓慈濟人，定期為貧窮家庭舉辦牙科義診，今天的第一則報導，我們跟著志工到馬利僅那市還有曼達盧永市，參與他們舉辦的第132次與第134次的牙科往診。
2.菲街友關懷 Caring for the homeless
Staying in the Philippines, recently, Tzu Chi volunteers in Manila handed out distribution coupons to the homeless, which entitle them to relief items provided by the Foundation. On the day of the distribution, both the givers and receivers felt much enlightened by the exchange of love.
持續來看菲律賓，日前馬尼拉慈濟志工發放物資兌換券給街友，讓他們能夠領取慈濟的物資，在發放當天，志工們以及居民們都被愛的循環深深感動。
3.巴拉圭訪老 A heartwarming visit for winter
More blessing and love was experienced in Paraguay as Tzu Chi volunteers brought human warmth to the winter for those living in nursing homes. In their most recent visit, Tzu Chi”s caregivers were joined by several young volunteers who were on an exchange program to Paraguay for their summer vacation. Let”s find out more.

4.紐約文化營 Tzu Chi Chinese Culture Summer Camp
In the United States, the Tzu Chi Foundation Long Island Branch recently held its first Chinese Culture Summer Camp. Parents signed up their kids, hoping they would better understand their roots. We join youngsters at the five-day cultural workshop.
慈濟美國長島支會，日前舉辦了第一屆紐約慈濟中華文化夏令營，父母送小朋友，希望藉此能尋根，接下來鏡頭跟著小朋友來到夏令營。
5.庫菩提諾童玩節 Happy Kids Day at Cupertino
Staying in the United States, but moving to California, Cupertino”s recent ”Happy Kids Day” was attended by over 10,000 people, as well as a variety of local organizations, including Tzu Chi. Volunteers performed sign language songs, and taught children about conservation.
持續留在美國，但我們將鏡頭轉到加州，庫菩提諾最近舉辦了童玩節，吸引了一萬人來參加，還有當地的團體，包括慈濟，志工們表演了手語歌曲，也向孩子宣導環保理念。
6.星旅遊展 Tzu Chi at travel fair
In the high-tempo city of Singapore, going abroad for a holiday is the only way to get away from it all and relax. Little wonder travel shows are so popular with Singaporeans. To bring an environmental angle to a recent fair, the organizers invited Tzu Chi to set up a booth to promote conservation.
在生活步伐快速的新加坡，出國旅行已經成了一種休閒方式，因此每每到了旅遊展，人潮總是絡繹不絕，為了在旅遊展中推廣環保科技產品，慈濟受邀在旅遊展設置攤位，宣導環保理念。
7.香港助學金 Scholarship program expanded
Like Singapore, Hong Kong is also a wealthy city. But many residents in the forgotten corners of society still need help. This year, Tzu Chi expanded its scholarship program to 8 school districts, and 122 children. Former scholarship recipients took to the stage at this year”s event, to tell everyone how Tzu Chi had made a difference to their lives.

8.中醫醫院獲獎 Accreditation for Chinese medicine
When they are sick, many people in Taiwan prefer to go to a herbalist or acupuncturist for treatment. Last year, 7 million people made over 20 million visits to Chinese doctors. That”s why the Department of Health has started accrediting traditional Chinese medical practice. In the first round, of the 96 hospitals that qualified, 45 applied for accreditation. 15 received an outstanding grade - including the Tzu Chi General Hospitals in Taipei and Taichung.
在台灣，許多人身體不舒服，會尋求中醫針灸治療，去年全台就有七百萬人，超過二千萬人次求助中醫門診，因此衛生署也開始針對中醫醫院進行評鑑，首次的評鑑中，全台九十六家符合評鑑資格的醫院，有四十五家申請評鑑，十五家獲得優等，包括台北慈濟醫院和台中慈濟醫院。
9.經典菩薩招生 Photo shows at Taichung TC Hospital
As well as top quality Chinese medical treatment at Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, you can also enjoy two photographic exhibitions in the lobby. The collections, put together by Rhythms Monthly magazine, are titled ”Strait Civilization” and ”400 years of Taiwan”. The first shows cultures in the Taiwan Strait, and 17 other countries; and the second captures 400 years of history in Taiwan.
慈濟台中分院，除了提供高品質的中醫服務外，現在還可以在醫院裡欣賞兩個攝影展，經典雜誌在台中慈濟醫院舉辦的攝影展，分別是「海峽文明」和「台灣四百年」攝影展，海峽文明攝影展走訪台灣和海外十七個國家，而第二個攝影展則紀錄台灣四百年的足跡。
10.來義關懷 Checking on typhoon victims in Laiyi
Typhoon Nanmadol lashed southern Taiwan with torrential rains. With the wrath of the 8/8 floods of 2009 still fresh in their minds, residents of Pingtung County”s Taiwu(泰武) Mountain quickly evacuated, and took shelter at the newly completed Laiyi community that houses displaced typhoon victims in the area.
南瑪都颱風為南台灣帶來豪大雨，由於對2009年的8/8風災還印象深刻，屏東泰武山區的居民提前撤離，暫居在安置風災災民，剛落成的新來義永久屋。

1905 Russo-Japanese War
The Russo-Japanese War which began in February, 1904, was the first great war of the 20th century. It was fought between Russia and Japan over Korea and Manchuria. Upon Japan”s victory, the Treaty of Portsmouth was signed on this day in 1905, ending hostilities between the two nations.
1972 Munich Massacre
On this day in the 1972 at the Summer Olympics hosted by West Germany in Munich of Bavaria, 8 members of Black September, a Palestinian terrorist group, broke into the athletes” village and took the Israeli team hostage. At the end of the ordeal, 11 Israeli coaches and athletes, as well as one police officer were killed. The event raised international awareness of strategies to save hostages.
2008 Myanmar Hope Project
To help with reconstruction work after Cyclone Nargis left a trail of destruction in Myanmar, Tzu Chi signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education, on this day in 2008, to help rebuild Thingangyun 4th Elementary School, in Yangon. The ground-breaking ceremony took place two months later, and the school was completed in June, the following year.
1905年，日俄戰爭結束，樸資茅斯條約，在1904年二月開始的日俄戰爭，是當世紀首次的戰爭，日本和俄國之間，為了爭奪朝鮮半島和滿洲地區的利益，在日本勝利後，在1905年這一天，簽下投降書，結束兩國的戰爭。

12. 0904慈濟約旦 An oasis of charity
On September 4, 1997, the Tzu Chi-Jordan liaison office was established, with volunteer Lin Huizhen(林慧真) as the director. With very little knowledge of Tzu Chi, but a heart full of passion for charity work, Lin and the rest of the volunteer team found their way through trial and error. However, in Tzu Chi-Jordan”s second year, Lin passed away from illness, and was succeeded by Chen Qiuhua, who has devoted more than ten years of his life to spreading Tzu Chi”s seeds of love throughout the desert nation.
1997年9月4日，慈濟約旦聯絡處成立，由林慧貞來出任負責人，在對慈濟的半知半解中，草創時期的約旦志工，一步步的挑起慈濟形象，不過到第二年，負責人林慧貞因病往生，慈濟志工陳秋華 挑起了重擔，在約旦大漠投入超過10年，建立愛的形象。
