Coming up in today`s show, the winter aid distribution in China`s Hubei(湖北) Province, is helping 279 families in Chibi(赤壁) City.

In our feature report on Internet addictions, we travel to remote areas, to find out why fewer children here are short-sighted or addicted to the Internet.

And, we meet a septuagenarian farmer in Yilan(宜蘭), Guan Zhongnan(官中南), who grows his own vegetables and travels to Taipei each day to sell them.

1.湖北冬令發放Winter aid distribution for 279 families

First up in China, Tzu Chi continues to hold winter aid distributions for the needy. Today, we join the volunteers as they visit residents in Chibi(赤壁) City, which is located in the southern part of Hubei(湖北) Province. With the help of local government, Wuhan(武漢) Tzu Chi volunteers handed out rice, cooking oil and warm blankets and clothes to 279 households.

首先來到中國，慈濟基金會繼續進行冬令發放，今天的地點是赤壁市，位於湖北省南部，武漢慈濟志工在當地政府協助下，發放279戶過冬


2.北京敬老關懷Visiting nursing home

Staying in China, over the past 3 years, Tzu Chi volunteers in Beijing, have regularly visited the senior residents at a local nursing home each month. On their latest trip last Sunday, December 16th; as the current temperature is 10 degrees below zero, the volunteers led the seniors in doing finger exercises, and brought new socks in hopes of keeping them warm. The elderly people all agree, they always look forward to these visits from Tzu Chi.

也是中國的報導，北京慈濟志工連續三年，每個月來到敬老院探訪長者，上周日的訪視，僅管溫度是攝氏零下十多度，志工帶著老人家做手指運動，還買新襪子暖和長者的身心，這些長者都很期待慈濟的到訪。


3.上海照顧戶圍爐Year-end gathering for care recipients

As New Year is just around the corner, the Tzu Chi Changfeng(長風) Office in Shanghai(上海) held an year-end gathering, where Tzu Chi care recipients brought their family members to celebrate the coming holiday. At the event, burn victims expressed their gratitude for Tzu Chi`s help, by donating money to help other people in need.

即將邁入新的一年，上海的慈濟長風會所，舉辦照顧戶的歲末圍爐活動，每個家庭都攜家帶眷前來參加，意外燒燙傷的小朋友，表達他們對慈濟的感恩之情，發願投竹筒，行善助人。


4.三重歲末祝福+新店文山歲末Year end blessing ceremonies

Moving to Taiwan, since last week, Northern District Tzu Chi volunteers have held many year-end blessing ceremonies. The most recent year-end blessing ceremony at the Taipei Tzu Chi General Hospital was joined by many media volunteers, who hope to encourage even more people to join their team. Meanwhile, over 1,000 participants attended the ceremony held on December 13th, at the Sanchong(三重) Jing Si Hall. Let`s take a look.

鏡頭轉到台灣，從上個星期開始，台灣北區慈濟志工陸續展開歲末祝福，最近的歲末祝福在台北慈濟醫院展開，更有許多真善美志工在場，因為希望藉此能吸引更多人參與真善美的團隊，同時12月13日，在三重靜思堂的歲末祝福，則有一千多人的參與，讓我們來看看。


5.喜出網外(二)柑仔店網咖The draw of Internet cafe

Many people have played online games before, however, not everyone that plays these games are addicted to them. In similar cases, many also use the Internet for over 10 hours a day at work, yet are not addicted to it either. In today`s Internet addiction series, we take a look how even students from remote townships will frequent Internet cafes, and what students take away from participating in the cyber world. Here`s more.

許多人都有玩電玩的經驗，但卻不是人人都會成癮，許多人每天上網超過十小時，同樣不會成癮，今天「喜出網外」專題報導的鏡頭，帶你看看，為什麼偏鄉部落孩子們也要到網咖 ，還有他們在虛擬世界所得到的是什麼？一起來看看。


6.愛的綠衣天使The kindness of a mail inspector

Next, we bring you a story of love and kindness; a mail inspector of the Yunlin(雲林) Post Office in Dounan(斗南) Township, 64-year-old Yang Siqian(楊四乾) discovered many lonely people on his trips delivering mails. To help, he began purchasing food for the needy out of his own pocket. His kind deeds have moved many of his colleagues to take similar actions; therefore, the Yulin Post Office decided to carry out its first ever winter relief distribution this year.

接著來看一個愛與善的故事，目前服務於雲林斗南郵局，64歲的楊四乾，總在遞送信件的途中，發現有許多孤苦的人，為了幫助他們，他總是是自掏腰包買物資給這些困苦的人，這份善行讓同仁們相當感動，甚至化作行動，雲林郵局開了郵政先河，在今年舉辦了第一次的冬令發放。


7.護理王蘭英Home care nurse, Wang Lanying

When patients with ca-the-ter or naso-gastric tube return home, they often need special care, and family members without the right knowledge, may find it difficult to care for their loved ones. This is when a home care nurse is needed. In our next report, we meet Wang Lanying(王蘭英), who visits 7-8 families a day, to care for these patients with special needs, as well as teach their family members of the things to take note of.

身上留有氣切管、尿管或是鼻胃管的患者，返家後生活起居常需要多花心思，這時就需要居家護理師的協助，今天我們來認識居家護理師王蘭英，一天大約探訪7至8個家庭，協助需要照顧的患者，也叮嚀家人該注意的事項。


8.健康吃湯圓Eating sticky rice balls in a healthy way

In Taiwan, winter sols-tice is celebrated by eating sticky rice balls, yet the seasonal dessert is generally regarded as high-calorie food, with its main ingredient-glutinous rice- being hard to digest. To educate the public on cooking the seasonal dessert in a healthy way, the dietitians and doctors of the traditional Chinese medicine department at Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital, demostrated how to make a rice ball soup that not only helps with digestion, but also has a low calorie count.

在台灣，冬至時節習慣吃湯圓，但湯圓熱量高，且糯米不好消化，為了讓民眾在冬至享用健康湯圓，花蓮慈濟醫院營養師與中醫師，開發出以藥膳為湯底的湯圓，促進腸胃蠕動，且低卡零負擔。


9.360扁擔族Yilan farmer selling in Taipei

In today`s feature reports on Taiwan`s unique trades, we meet septuagenarian farmer Guan Zhongnan(官中南), who travels via train to Taipei every day to sell his vegetables. Guan, like many other farmers in Yilan(宜蘭), grows his own vegetables, before selling them in one of Taipei`s many outdoor traditional markets. Despite his age, the senior farmer is not afraid of the hard work that comes along with his job, and is determined to continue the trade for as long as he can.

在今天的真情臉譜專題中，我們來認識70多歲的官中南，每天坐火車到台北賣青菜，跟許多農夫一樣，官中南自己耕種蔬果之外，還自己到台北的傳統市場賣菜，即使年紀不小了，他不怕工作辛苦，並想要這樣持續工作。

Before the upcoming winter break, 40 students joined Tzu Chi volunteers in Penghu(澎湖) on a trip to the local nursing home. The volunteers and students prepared clay for the seniors to make their own pottery, so that they may exercise their fingers.
