To help Taiwan`s drug addicts shake their vice, the government has established, four independent rehabilitation centers, and three more attached to the island`s women prisons. Thanks to the Drug Control Act, that went into effect in 1999, now addicts work with social workers and counselors, instead of sweating in prison`s workshops, to restore balance in their lives.
