Welcome to Da Ai Headlines. I’m Wendy Chen. Thank you for joining us. Coming up in today’s show, Malaysia Tzu Chi volunteers return to Kota Kinabalu to distribute relief items to the recent fire victims. Members of the Tzu Chi Teachers Association travel from Taiwan to Malaysia, to share their experiences in teaching Jing Si Aphorisms to students. And, we meet a farmer in New Taipei City, Qiu Xianhui(邱顯輝), to learn why organic vegetables is becoming the new trend in diets.

1. 馬火災生活包

In the first of our report yesterday, we learned of a fire that broke out in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and Tzu Chi volunteers have arrived on site to carry out disaster surveys. In today’s report, we follow Tzu Chi volunteers back to the village, where they held an aid distribution at a temporary shelter, to help these disaster victims.

今天第一則新聞，昨天我們報導一場在馬來西亞沙巴亞庇發生的火災，而慈濟志工前往勘災，今天慈濟志工再次回到村子，在收容中心進行生活包的發放，幫助災民。


2. 大米援助菲

This year, Taiwan’s Council of Agriculture plans to donate 2,000 tons of rice to the Philippines, through the assistance of the Tzu Chi Foundation. As the first container was ready to be shipped from the Kaohsiung(高雄) Port, Taiwan’s Agriculture and Food Agency sent inspectors to check the quality of the rice, that will soon find its way into the hands of the needy in the Philippines.

今年台灣農委會計畫透過慈濟基金會幫助，捐贈2000公噸大米給菲律賓，裝載著大米的貨櫃將於高雄港運出，農糧署人員也前往抽檢即將送到菲律賓人民手中的大米。


3. 貧困生關懷

Staying in Asia, but moving to Indonesia, we join Tzu Chi volunteers who traveled to Santa The-re-sia Catholic Elementary School on the island of Batam, to distribute aid supplies and provide health checkups for the children. Let’s take a look.

印尼慈濟志工來到巴淡島上的聖特雷西亞小學，除了送上愛心物資，也幫忙孩子健康檢查。


4. 北慈病童關懷

In Taiwan, to celebrate the Children’s Day which falls on April 4th, medical staff from the Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital prepared surprise gifts their young patients, bringing these children holiday joy and wishing them to a speedy recovery.

在台灣，為了慶祝4月4號兒童節，台北慈院的醫護同仁為病房內的小朋友帶來驚喜，讓他們感受歡樂氣氛，也祝福他們能早日康復。

5. 吉打薰法香

Beginning on March 15th, Da Ai TV has been broadcasting a new program on Master Cheng Yen’s teachings of the Lotus Sutra each day, and have since, inspired Tzu Chi volunteers from around the globe, who make it part of their day, to get up and watch the program together. Among them, are Tzu Chi volunteers from Malaysia’s Kedah, who gather at 5:30 every morning, at their local Jing Si Hall, to listen to the Master’s words of wisdom. In the hour-long gathering each morning, the happiness and fulfilling moments volunteers shared together, is attracting more and more to take part.

從3月15日開始，大愛台靜思妙蓮華首播，節目開播以來，吸引許多志工早起恭聽上人的開示，其中馬來西亞吉打分會志工，每天早上五點半就聚集在靜思堂，恭聽上人的開示，短短一個小時的共修，有笑聲也有淚水，吸引越來越多的志工和民眾。

6. 馬靜思教學課

Staying in Malaysia, the Tzu Chi Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chapter recently, invited members of Tzu Chi Teachers Association from Taiwan, to share their experiences, and encourage local teachers to include Jing Si Aphorisms in their curriculum. Thanks to this seminar, local teachers are now more ready to spread these words of wisdom far and wide.

繼續在馬來西亞，慈濟雪隆分會最近邀請台灣教聯會老師，分享自己如何教導靜思語，許多當地老師說，準備好把這些好話傳播出去。


7. 美品格教育

In the United States, California Tzu Chi volunteers have continuously cared for impoverished families in the Lytle Creek community in San Ber-nar-dino. Apart from bringing free medical supplies, over the past six years, volunteers have also provided after school tutoring for students of Lytle Creek Elementary School, as majority of the students are from low income families and face many difficulties in their studies.

在美國，加州慈濟志工長期關懷在聖伯納汀諾萊陀溪社區的困苦民眾，除了帶來免費的醫療物資，過去六年也持續在萊陀溪小學 提供孩子課業輔導，因為這裡大部分的孩子都來自貧窮的家庭，在學習上面臨許多障礙。

On Accumulating Blessings

When we die, we take nothing with us expect our karma. Being born into a good family, a harmonious society and with enough food to eat is all the result of our past blessings and beneficial karmic affiliations. So with a heart of gratitude, in this lifetime we should work to accumulate blessings for the sake of generations that follow.

主題：談積福

開示：萬般帶不去，唯有業隨身，能夠生長在好家庭，在祥和的社會，衣食無缺，是因為過去生中造福、結好緣，所以要心懷感恩，為後世子孫儲蓄資源，多多「積福」。


8. 食字路口(3)

In today’s feature report regarding food safety, we look into the food we eat on a daily basis. In Tucheng(土城), New Taipei City, a community farming program has been recently established, in which consumers buy fresh vegetables directly from farmers. Through this program, farmers no longer face losses from bad weather, and consumers get to purchase pes-ti-cide free vegetables.

今天的食字路口系列報導，要帶您看到的是我們每天都要吃的蔬菜。在土城，透過最近成立的社區協力農業的消費模式，消費者可以直接跟農夫購買新鮮蔬果，這樣的模式，不僅農民能降低可能因天氣所造成的風險損失，消費者也得以購買到新鮮與無毒的有機蔬菜。


9. 板橋心素食儀

Staying on the topic of a healthy diet, the Tzu Chi Banqiao(板橋) Chapter held a vegetarian cooking seminar last weekend, where Tzu Chi volunteer Chen Shuli(陳淑麗) shared with participants her secret of staying young and healthy. At the same time, many experienced kitchen volunteers also shared their tips on making delicious vegetarian dishes.

持續與您分享如何吃出健康，台灣慈濟板橋園區特別舉辦心素食儀種子研習營，課程中，慈濟志工陳淑麗分享保持年輕和身體健康的秘訣，同時還有資深的香積志工傳授，如何在素食料理上多加巧思。


10. 桃孝道音樂會

Here in Taiwan, the late Tzu Chi volunteer Zhang Yulian(張玉蓮) devoted much of her lifetime as a hospital volunteer. Upon her passing, family members organized a filial piety concert at the Longan(龍安) Elementary School in Taoyuan(桃園), to honor their mother through music and songs.

在台灣，慈濟志工張玉蓮長期在醫院擔任志工，在往生後，家人在桃園龍安國小舉辦一場孝道感恩音樂會，傾訴對母親的思念。
