In our top stories, Philippines TIMA members set up a joint free clinic, with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to help cataract patients. In Taiwan, the Tzu Chi College of Technology organize a ceremony, to honor two Silent Mentors, before their first simulation surgery program. And, we see how young people today courageously fight to realize their dreams, despite facing tough competitions from home and abroad.

1. 菲眼科義診

First up in the Philippines; TIMA medical staff and the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, have recently partnered in a free clinic earlier this month, to provide surgery for cataract patients who cannot afford treatment, and thus, helping them see the world once again.

節目的開始來到菲律賓，慈濟人醫會和耶穌聖心修女會共同合作舉辦義診，讓更多因為貧困無法看病的白內障病患，重見光明。


2. 香港社區義診

Also holding a free clinic to help the needy, are TIMA doctors in Hong Kong, who organized the event at Tin Shui Wai(天水圍), to offer basic health examinations and various types of medical services. In all, 39 medical staff were mobilized to serve 180 residents.

同樣舉辦義診的，還有香港的人醫會醫師，來到天水圍進行義診，提供基本的健康檢查、各科的問診服務，動員39位醫護人員，服務180位民眾。

3. 蘇電子耳愛延續

On June 24th, 2011, Dr. Wu Hongbin(吳弘斌) from the Taichung(台中) Tzu Chi Hospital worked in partnership with a local children’s hospital in China’s Jiangsu(江蘇) Province, to perform the first ever coch-lear implant surgery in Suzhou(蘇州), for Wang Xinhua(王鑫華), who suffered hearing impairment since birth. Thanks to the hearing aid, Wang is now able to hear and speak like a normal child and Dr. Wu also re-visited the boy recently, with a tool to help him learn faster and easier.

2011年6月24號，台中慈院醫師吳弘斌和蘇州兒童醫院合作，完成蘇州首例人工電子耳植入手術，幫病患王鑫華動手術，因為他出生後就失去聽覺，裝上電子耳後 ，他會聽也會講，變成像是正常的孩子，吳醫師則再度跨海來到蘇州，還送了一台玩具電子琴，讓王小弟弟學習得更好更快。


4. 蘇義診助聽障

Following his first coch-lear implant surgery in Suzhou two years ago, Dr. Wu Hongbin(吳弘斌) from the Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, took the opportunity of the opening of the Tzu Chi Suzhou Grounds and Health Promotion Center in China, to revisit his young patient, Wang Xinhua(王鑫華), and also organise a 2-day free health consultation, to help more children with hearing impairments.

兩年前在蘇州完成首例裝設人工電子耳手術，台中慈院吳弘斌醫師，在這次蘇州慈濟志業園區啟用典禮回到蘇州，探望王鑫華，也展開兩天的醫療諮詢，幫助更多聽障的小朋友。

5. 慈技大體啟用

Prior to the beginning of the simulation surgery program, at Tzu Chi College of Technology in Hualien, which is the first vocational college to have simulation classes in Taiwan, a ceremony was held to honor the selfless giving spirit of the Silent Mentors. The two donors this year, Lai-Lin Sujiao(賴林素嬌) and Zhong Yiyou(鍾易佑) were both devoted volunteers before passing away. Let’s take a look.

在花蓮的慈濟技術學院解剖教學開始之前，全台技職體系中唯一有大體教學的學校，進行大體老師啟用典禮，今年的兩位無語良師，賴林素嬌和鍾易佑，生前都積極投入慈濟，讓我們一起來看看。


6. 惟孝黃玟睿

Among the students taking part in the musical adaptation of the Sutra of Profound Gratitude to Parents last weekend in Hualien, was a sister pair - Huang Wenrui (黃玟睿) and Huang Wenyu (黃玟瑜), from the Tzu Chi Elementary School. To get ready for the musical, the girls frequently practiced sign language at home, and in turn, inspired their mother to join volunteers’ ranks.

上周於花蓮舉辦的父母恩重難報經演繹，表演者當中有一對姊妹檔，是慈濟小學的學生，黃玟睿和黃玟瑜。為了準備表演，姊妹倆常在家裡練手語，也因此啟發了媽媽，一起投入慈濟的行列。


7. 馬陪伴癌友

In Malaysia’s Klang, 22-year-old Deva Kumar was not given the chance to make his dreams come true, as he was diagnosed with leukemia soon after finishing college, and was told he only had six months to live. Tzu Chi volunteers accompanied the young man through his treatment, and even helped him fulfill his final wish, of an outdoor picnic with the students to whom he once provided tutoring. Two days after the picnic, Kumar peacefully passed away with no regrets.

在馬來西亞的巴生，22歲的青年古瑪沒有機會完成夢想，因為才剛完成學業就發現自己得到白血病，僅剩六個月的生命，慈濟志工一路陪伴，不僅是陪同治療，更進一步完成他的願望，安排曾接受他幫助的貧困學生一同去野餐，在願望完成後二天，古瑪與世長辭，沒有遺憾。

When love is concentrated and organized it has the power to minister to countless people. If the world’s humanitarian groups can come together in the spirit of cooperation, we can ensure that every person that needs help receives it.

開示：世間災禍不斷，使得受苦難的人愈多，愈是需要人道精神互助，須以團體匯聚愛的力量，才能讓許多人得到救助。期盼各人道精神團體合心協力，才能確實救助天下苦難人。

8. 329台灣青年力

March 29th is Youth Day in Taiwan, and the origin of this holiday come from what was later known as the Second Guangzhou(廣州) Uprising, in which a group of young men revolted against the government, in hopes of creating a brighter future for their country and their families. Although this historic moment has long faded from the minds of many, today’s younger generation however, faces different battlefields in employment. Here’s more.

3月29日是台灣的青年節，節日的由來是來自廣州黃花崗事件，當年一群年輕人為民主理想奮鬥，為了是國家與家人的未來，但是這件歷史早就隨著時間沖淡了，現在的台灣青年人面對的戰場卻是就業，一起來看看。


9. 美志工培訓

Moving to the United States; Tzu Chi volunteers in Hawaii organized a training seminar, to introduce the Buddhist NGO to more local residents. Through the sharing of translating volunteers and Tzu Chings, participants all gained better understanding of Tzu Chi’s message of gratitude, respect and love.

鏡頭轉到美國，慈濟志工在夏威夷舉辦培訓課程，介紹慈濟給當地居民，透過翻譯志工，還有慈青們的分享，大家都了解到慈濟所傳達感恩尊重愛的精神。

In Malaysia, teachers from the Tzu Chi Johor Bahru Kindergarten, organized a special trip to the dialysis center, to help students learn about human anatomy.
