●Coming up in the show today, New Zealand Tzu Chi volunteers, are preparing hot meals for needy residents, in the Delta Community House in Christ-church.

●As the decision of building the 4th Nuclear Power Plant, is still undecided, we meet Chen Ailing(陳藹玲), who establishes an anti-nuclear group, to fight for a su-stain-able future, for the children of Taiwan.

●And, the Taichung(台中) Tzu Chi Hospital and Miaoli(苗栗) City Office, held a joint free clinic, to safeguard the health of more than 300 residents.

●今天的提要，紐西來慈濟志工，為在基督城，迪爾塔社區之家的貧困民眾，準備熱食。

●由於核四興建與否，還未決定，陳藹玲成立反核團體，為台灣的孩子爭取，可持續的未來。

●而台中慈濟醫院，苗栗市公所合作，舉辦義診，一同守護三百多位，民眾的健康。

1.紐基督城熱食 TC volunteers visit Christchurch

Recently, New Zealand Tzu Chi volunteers, visited the Delta Community House in Christ-church, for the very first time, where they prepared hot meals for impoverished residents. The vegetarian dishes prepared by the volunteers, not only warmed the stomachs of residents, but ensured all got the nutrients they need as well.

最近紐西蘭慈濟志工，第一次拜訪基督城的，迪爾塔社區之家，為貧困民眾準備熱食，志工準備的素食料理，不僅溫暖民眾的肚子，也讓他們吃到健康。


2.深圳愛灑 Helping the needy in Shenzhen

In China, in Shenzhen(深圳) of Guangdong(廣東) Province, many businessmen help impoverished families each month,by providing sub-si-d-aries through Tzu Chi. This time around, Tzu Chi volunteers included additional daily necessities for these families, and invited care recipient, Ms. Feng (馮) to share her story with everyone.

在中國的廣東深圳，許多有愛心的企業家，委託慈濟，為貧困家庭發放補助金，這次志工額外準備生活用品，還邀請慈濟照顧戶 馮女士，跟大家分享他的人生故事。


3.海地建校進度 Transitioning to new school soon

In Port-au-Prince, Christ the King Secretarial School, of Sisters of Saint Anne, part of Tzu Chi`s long term rebuilding efforts in Haiti, is nearly complete. Tzu Chi volunteers have been getting a weekly report, on the progress and have introduce the the idea of teaching Jing Si Aphorisms and tea ceremony, once the school completes.

海地太子港，聖恩修女會女子祕書學校的希望工程，即將完成，慈濟志工每周，進行了解進度，也和校方開始討論啟用事宜，以及推動靜思語教學與茶道。


4.加靜思語賽 Jing Si Aphorism story telling contest

Moving to North America, teachers and students from five Tzu Chi Academies came together, to hold a Jing Si Aphorism story telling contest, at the Canada Tzu Chi Chapter. During the contest, participants put in their best effort to present Jing Si Aphorism stories, that would inspire all those in the audience.

來到北美洲，五所慈濟人文學校的師生，共同在加拿大分會，舉辦靜思語說故事比賽，比賽中，參加的學生都獻上自己最棒的表現，各各也講出深入人心的靜思與故事。


5.慈濟菁英志工 13th Annual Spirit of Community Awards

At the 13th Annual Pru-den-tial Spirit of Community Awards, 30 students were chosen from a pool of 6,000, as this year`s winners. Among them was one student from Hualien(花蓮) Tzu Chi Junior High School, and several others who expressed interest in joining Tzu Ching in college, or later as a volunteer.

第13屆青少年志工菁英獎，從6000多件報名件數中，選出30名優秀的菁英志工，其中花蓮慈大附中的學生，還有人也想參加慈青社，進而成為慈濟志工。

By observing propriety, one cares for oneself. Only when one cares for oneself is it possible to love others.

懂得生活禮儀，就懂得愛自己；自愛的人，才會愛人。


6.美核安公共意識 Youths discuss nuclear energy

The issues surrounding nuclear energy, is a topic the youths in the United States, have also concerned themselves with. At the I-dyll-wild School of Music and the Arts, students held a series of debates, to discuss the pros and cons of nuclear energy.

核能議題是美國的孩子們，也高度關心的事，在依地野音樂藝術學院，學生舉辦研討會，探討核能的優點與缺點。


7.0308陳藹玲反核 The ”Mom Loves Taiwan” Group

The decision whether to build the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant in Gongliao(貢寮) District, New Taipei City, or not, seems to be heading to a public referendum. Helping get the word out is the ”Mom Loves Taiwan” group, established by Chen Ailing(陳藹玲), board director of the Fubon(富邦) Cultural and Educational Foundation. As a mother of four, Chen who was concerned about the future of her children, is determined to fight for a su-stain-able future for the children of Taiwan.

位於新北市的貢寮區，核四興建與否，將以公投方式訴諸民意，站出來反核的還有一個新成立的團體，媽媽監督核電聯盟，由富邦文教基金會，執行董事陳藹玲發起，身為四個孩子的母親 陳藹玲，心繫下一代的健康安危，要為台灣的孩子，保留一個永續的環境。


8.四大志業植樹 Annual Arbor Day with Tzu Chi

Today, March 12th is Taiwan`s Arbor Day, and to celebrate, Tzu Chi volunteers and staff from Tzu Chi Foundation`s four main missions, took time over the weekend, to get in some planting. However, in a change from previous events, everyone was asked, to first go to the Hualien Tzu Chi campus, to find a seedling to replant.

今天3月12日就是植樹節，慈濟四大志業的職工，利用週末來種樹，但不同於一般的活動，大家首先前往慈濟大學，尋找自己的小樹苗。


《 衲履足跡 》談欲念 On Desire

For the average person, the more desires they have, the more karma they create for themselves. Correspondingly, those who have made a firm vow in their hearts to work on behalf of all sentient beings will have less desires; as they always put others before oneself.

凡夫心欲愈重，造業愈多；相對地，發大心、立大願而利益人群的人 欲念輕，總是為天下人、天下事而付出。


9.中慈苗栗健檢 Free clinic to safeguard health

In Taiwan, to safeguard the health of members of the public, Taichung(台中) Tzu Chi Hospital and Miaoli(苗栗) City Office, held a joint free clinic at the local Tzu Chi Grounds, that was joined by more than 300 local residents. The free clinic not only offered basic health checks but also screening for four types of cancers and was also joined by 80-year-old recycling volunteer Zhuang-Zhang Xiuying(莊張秀英), who came with her mentally and physically challenged brother-in-law.

為了守護民眾的健康，台灣 台中慈濟醫院，和苗栗市公所合作，在當地的慈濟園區，舉辦一場義診，現場超過三百位民眾參加，義診不但有基礎健康檢查，更有四項癌症篩檢，八十歲的環保志工莊奶奶，也帶著行動不變，又有智能障礙的小叔，一起參加。


10.德州關懷法親 Visiting senior Tzu Chi volunteers

In the United States, Texas Tzu Chi volunteers are visiting their fellow senior volunteers, and first arrived at the house of a husband-and-wife team, who although senior in age, are still thinking of giving to Tzu Chi`s work whenever they can. Meanwhile, another senior volunteer still insists on volunteering at the local Chapter regardless of her sickness.

在美國，慈濟德州分會的志工，關心年邁的法親，有一對同修的夫妻，雖然年長，可是還是把握機會付出，還有另外一位志工，即使行動都不方便，但還是堅持，去分會去當志工。

We go to Malaysia at the end of the show; since its establishment in 2010, every day volunteers will gather at the Kedah Jing Si Hall to help with cleaning work.
