Welcome to Da Ai Headlines. I”m Anthony Carlisle. Thank you for joining us. Coming up in the show today, volunteers in the Philippines deliver aid to families affected by a shantytown fire in Manila. Is the free electricity the residents of Lanyu get worth the cost of having radioactive waste on their doorsteps? 1. 菲火災燒傷
We start today”s show in the Philippines, where a fire in Manila”s Quezon City, on March 17, consumed 31 households, leaving 159 people homeless. Tzu Chi volunteers quickly handed out rice, blankets and clothing to the victims.
節目一開始，菲律賓馬尼拉計順市聖靈里的一處貧民區，3月17日發生一場大火，這場火燒毀了31戶家庭，造成159人無家可歸，慈濟志工接獲消息後，立刻前往當地進行物資發放，包括大米、毛毯、衣服和民生用品等。

2. 器捐重生
In Kaohsiung, Taiwan, liver transplant patient Mr. Zou was involved in a road accident, three months after surgery, which almost took his life a second time. The fortunate 55-year-old says he now wants to encourage more people to be organ donors.
高雄一位罹患肝癌的鄒先生，接受肝臟捐贈移植，讓他重獲新生，三個月後遭遇一場嚴重車禍，生命再次受到危險，55歲的他說，想鼓勵更多人捐贈器官。

3. 馬教育展海達
One of the staff, at the Tzu Chi Dialysis Center booth at an education fair in Penang, Malaysia, was a male nurse by the name of Haidar. As well as telling the story of how he joined Tzu Chi, Haidar hopes to break down some of the stereotypes about his profession.

在馬來西亞檳城，由星報主辦，為期兩天的大型教育展，有一位護士助理很吸睛，海達大方分享自己加入慈濟故事，希望打破社會對護理工作的刻板印象。

4. 核不沉默(4)居民 vs. 核廢
The radiactive waste stored on Taiwan”s Lanyu, or Orchid island, is a constant worry for the residents. However, the compensation package, which includes free electricity, has dramatically changed their way of life, splitting the community into two camps.
台電在蘭嶼存放的核廢料，讓當地的居民活在恐懼中，但更重要的是，台電所給的福利，包括不用付費的電費，對當地生活帶來了的改變，讓這裡的居民分成兩派。

5. 惜福做清掃
More domestic problems as Taiwan”s Ministry of Education says 1 out of 4 students has never helped do the chores at home. To change that, the Souji Association runs an annual campaign, to encourage children to clean up their act.

6. 癌末婚禮
After Vietnamese woman Fanshi Tianxiang(范氏天香), broke up with her Taiwanese husband, she still took care of him his family, doubling her efforts after he was diagnosed with cancer. Now the couple have decided to remarry.

一位越南籍配偶范氏天香，跟前夫感情不睦，前夫被診斷出罹患口腔癌末期，范氏不離不棄照顧前夫，現在他們倆決定再一次結婚。

On Repentance

Tzu Chi”s Great Repentance Campaign aimed to inspire people to genuinely reflect on themselves and change for the better. The accumulation of bad karma will harm both self and others. Purify your thoughts so that you can be a positive influence on those around you.

開示：推動大懺悔並非只要別人發露懺悔，自己卻不反省。習氣不改，業力積累，不只影響自己也影響別人；自淨心意，才能運用自心的清流淨化他人。

7. 360襪子故鄉(一)
In today”s feature on Taiwan”s fading industries, we visit the nation”s sock capital - Shetou in Changhua County. Despite fierce competition from cheap imports, the small township”s sock makers still dominate the domestic market.

今天台灣的夕陽工業，帶大家來看看襪子的故鄉南投，儘管面對低廉的進口價格，小小襪子企業仍堅守國內的市場。

8. 360襪子故鄉(二)

One way Shetou”s sock makers survive, is by diversifying into tourism. In our next story, we meet another family, who opened up their factory to visitors. But as we find out, the father had to put his foot down, to keep his children in step.

社頭襪子企業轉型觀光企業求存，接下來的報導，帶大家看另一個家庭，開放遊客參觀，但是我們發現，父親必須放下腳步，讓孩子進入狀況。
