●Coming up in today`s show, Tzu Chi volunteers in China are holding winter aid distributions to help residents in both Fujian and Sichuan Province.

●As US Tzu Chi is celebrating its 23rd year of establishment, Tzu Chi volunteers are organising a national training seminar.

1.泉州冬令發放

In China`s Fujian(福建) Province, beginning on December 25th, Tzu Chi held a 3-day winter aid distribution in Quanzhou(泉州) City. On the first day, the distribution was held at Quangang(泉港) District, and a total of 7,256 families received aid supplies. Many local residents, upon arriving at the distribution venue, did not hurry to pick up their aid packs, but instead lent a helping hand to ensure the smooth running of the event.

在中國的福建省，從12月25日開始一連三天，慈濟在泉州市展開冬令發放，第一天發放的地點在泉港區，總共有7256戶家庭領到物資，許多鄉親來到發放現場，都不急於領取物資，反而投入志工的行列，協助活動順利進行。


2.瀘州冬令發放

Also in China, Luzhou(瀘州) District in Sichuan(四川) Province, experienced serious flooding this July. After the flood waters slowly receded, Tzu Chi was there to offer aid and care to families in need. On December 22nd, volunteers held a winter aid distribution for 2,999 households in Luzhou(瀘州) City. Each family received a bag of rice, cooking oil, as well as warm clothing and blankets. Thanks to the love of Tzu Chi, these families are guaranteed of a warm winter.

也是中國的報導，四川瀘州，在今年七月發生嚴重水患，洪災過後，慈濟持續提供物資與關懷，給貧困的家庭與學生，為了持續關懷，志工在12月22號，為2999戶瀘州鄉親進行冬令發放，每一戶家庭收到了大米、食用油、禦寒衣物和棉被，因為有慈濟志工的愛，這些家庭都能度過溫暖的冬天。


3.紐約消防官發放

In the United States, volunteers from Tzu Chi New York Chapter, continue to distribute cash cards to Hurricane Sandy survivors. This time around, they helped current and former firefighters, whose houses were severely damaged by the hurricane. At the distribution, 116 families of the firefighters received Tzu Chi`s help.

在美國 慈濟紐約分會的志工，仍然持續針對桑迪風災的受災戶，進行現值卡的發放，這次的發放對象是，在職或退休的紐約市消防官，他們的房子因為風災而損毀，這一天總計共發放116戶。

4.美23周年慶

The Tzu Chi US Headquarters is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year and, to date, has seen a total of 2,891 certified commissioners, who are continuing to carry out Tzu Chi`s work to help the poor. On December 8th, Tzu Chi volunteers from all around the United States gathered in San Dimas, California, to attend the ”Unity Consensus Seminar”, in which the volunteers were inspired, to continue light up dark corners around the world.

慈濟美國總會，今年慶祝23歲生日，目前，在全美已受證的志工人數，有2891人，在全美各地推動濟貧教富的工作，12月8日，全美志工齊聚美國加州慈濟總會，參予合心共識營，要鼓勵志工用愛，照亮更多黑暗角落。


5.耶誕書軒送愛

During the holiday season, the one thing most people look forward to is receiving gifts on Christmas Day. Here in Taoyuan(桃園),Taiwan, Jing Si Publications organized a book donation drive, and donated a variety of books to the Dalun(大崙) Elementary School. For teachers and students, this Christmas gift was one of a kind.

在耶誕期間，大家最期盼的就是收到禮物，在台灣桃園，靜思人文響應捐書活動，將多種類出版的書籍捐贈給，大崙國小讓師生閱讀，對師生來說，這是一份最另類的耶誕節禮物。


6.亞庇照顧戶(二)

In Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, Tzu Chi volunteers held a series of activities such as health check-ups, eye examinations and free haircuts for 283 care recipients. At the event, the volunteers also took the opportunity to promote recycling, and prepared vegetarian dishes for the care recipients to enjoy.

在馬來西亞亞庇，慈濟志工安排一系列活動，包括體檢、眼睛檢查、免費理髮，服務283名照顧戶，活動中也不忘宣導環保知識，活動也招待簡單素宴，讓照顧戶感到如回家般溫馨。


7.義診防中風

Medical staff from the Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, recently carried out a free clinic in Central Taiwan, with doctors from ophthalmology, dental and internal medicine departments taking part. A neurosurgeon was also on site, to remind residents of the things to take note of in the cold weather, as a prevention against strokes.

台中慈院醫護人員到山區義診，有眼科、牙科、內科一起加入，還有神經外科醫師，也提醒大家注意，冷天氣更要有效預防中風。


《 衲履足跡 》談法入心 On Taking Dharma to Heart

When practicing Buddhism, one must take dharma to heart, as it is the only way to truly understand the real meaning behind the religion.

Religion is not a wishing well and will only be of benefit when one takes dharma to heart, practice the ideals in their daily lives, and get rid of their bad habits.

學佛一定要學得法入心，假如法不入心，絕對無法理解宗教的真實道理。信仰宗教不是臨事祈禱，要真正對法理有所感悟，運用生活中、改除惡習，才於已有益。


8.360水庫管理員

Taiwan`s Feitsui(翡翠) Reservoir is one of two major water sources for residents in Taipei, Tamsui(淡水) and Taoyuan. Guarding the water sources is no easy task, due to frequent trespassers, however, thanks to a small number of security guards, residents do not have to worry about the purity of their drinking water. In today`s segment of Taiwan`s unique trades, we take you behind the scenes, for a look at what Feitsui(翡翠) Reservoir security guards do on the job.

台灣的翡翠水庫，是北臺灣地區，淡水、桃園地區，其中一個重要水庫，管制水庫並不是一件簡單的事，因為有很多人會偷跑進去，可是因為有一群駐衛警，人們並不用擔心水質問題，今天帶大家看，翡翠水庫管理員 他們工作內容。


9.神父賣涼麵

In Taiwan`s Tainan, Catholic priest, Father Li Ruowang(李若望) opened a cold noodle restaurant near his church, not because he was looking to make extra cash, but as a way to protect the troubled children in his congregation. As there were plans to turn the previous vacant storefront, into an Internet cafe or video arcade, Li took it upon himself to rent the location. Now, his noodle store also serves as a place, for those who might need temporary employment, to make ends meet.

在台南台灣，一位天主教的神父 李若望，開了一間 涼麵店，在他教會附近，不是因為要賺錢，而是要保護他教會的輔導孩子，因為有傳說那間空店，要改租給網咖或是電玩店，所以李若望就把店租下來，現在他的涼麵店，也剛好可以提供就業機會，給那些有所需的人。

As 2013 is just a few days away, many families are getting ready to celebrate the coming New Year. However, for some low-income families, they probably do not look forward to the holiday as much. In the United States, Tzu Chi volunteers in Texas arrived in Lindais Elementary School, to hand out winter jackets to its students, as most of them are from low-income households.
