Coming up in the show today, we join US Tzu Chi volunteers in Texas, at the ground breaking ceremony, of the expansion of the Tzu Chi Houston Chapter.

Moving to Malaysia, Tzu Chi volunteers, are providing monthly food and transportation subsidies, to needy students

And in Brazil, Tzu Chi volunteers are holding monthly free clinics, providing ultra-sounds and pre-scription glasses, to residents in slum areas.

1.德州二期動土+募款籌備Expansion of Houston Branch

We kick of the show in the United States, The Tzu Chi Houston Chapter, will be holding two charity concerts, before the end of the year, to raise funds for the expansion, that will include the construction of an assembly hall and a Da Ai Kingergarten. The ground breaking ceremony, took place on December 8th, and was attended by government officials and local businesses.

我們一開始來到美國，慈濟德州分會年尾籌辦兩場「人文饗宴」的募款餐會，為了這次二期工程的籌款，這次的加建包含感恩堂跟大愛幼兒園，二期動土典禮12月8日舉辦，許多政府官員和企業人士也用出席表達認同。


2.浙江武義發放+浙關懷張慧戰Winter aid distribution in Zhejiang

Moving to China, as 2012 is coming to an end, China Tzu Chi volunteers, held a winter aid distribution on December 15th, in Zhejiang(浙江) Province. The event was joined by Shu Chunwu(舒春武), who received Tzu Chi`s help in the past. Meanwhile, the volunteers also visited those, that couldn`t make it to the distribution. Among them was Tzu Chi care recipient Zhang Huizhan(張慧戰), who said that he would like to join the volunteers` ranks, when he recovers from his sickness.

鏡頭轉到中國，2012年即將進入尾聲，12月15日中國慈濟志工來到浙江省舉辦冬令發放，參與這次活動的有前一陣子才接受慈濟幫助的舒春武，另外，志工也拜訪無法來到發放現場的居民，其中一位是照顧戶張慧戰，他說希望自己的身體好了後，也可以加入志工的行列。

3.國道楊梅車禍+24傷送醫Tour bus accident on Highway

In Taiwan, on December 16th, a tour bus accident occurred on Highway 1. Those Nantou(南投) County residents on board, were heading to the Taoyuan(桃園) Airport, to start their five-day holiday tour in Vietnam. All 24 passengers and the bus driver,suffered from major or minor injuries, with one passenger passed away in the accident. The police are still investigating the cause of the incident. Upon receiving the news, Tzu Chi volunteers arrived at hospitals, with much needed emotional support. Here`s more.

在12月16日，台灣國道1號上有遊覽車意外車禍，車上的乘客是即將前往桃園機場的南投居民，要進行5日的越南旅遊，24位乘客還有司機，分別受輕傷或重傷，一位乘客不幸死亡，警察還在繼續調查肇事原因，當聽到消息，慈濟志工分批前往醫院，安慰傷者和家屬。

4.巴生新芽獎(三)Get children to school

Also in Asia, in Klang, Malaysia, many children from poor families are often at risk, of missing out on school, due to a lack of money. To help, Tzu Chi`s New Shoots scholarship program was created, with these children and families in mind. However, volunteers discovered that even if families, were able to pay school tuition, many children could not afford their school bus, or were going to school hungry. Therefore, starting in April of this year, Tzu Chi volunteers have slowly added monthly food and transportation subsidies, into school programs throughout the city.

也是亞洲的報導，在馬來西亞巴生許多窮人家的孩童，因為沒錢無法就學，慈濟新芽獎學金就是為了幫助這些學生而創立，但志工發現在有些孩子無法繳付車費，而且常常餓著肚子去上學，因此在今年的四月，慈濟志工階段性走入一些學校，每月提供交通與食物補助。


5.馬畢典經藏Preschool graduation ceremony

Also in Malaysia, the Kuala Lumpur Da Ai Educare Center, held its 5th graduation ceremony, featuring the musical adaption of the Water Repentance Sutra, which offered the graduates and parents, a chance to repent and cleanse their body and soul. In the ceremony, the graduates were also guided, to express their gratitude, towards their parents.

馬來西亞吉隆玻大愛兒童教育中心，舉辦第五屆畢業典禮，今年的畢業典禮以經藏為主軸，藉由經藏演繹，小朋友和家長一同虔誠懺悔，洗滌身心靈，也引導學生對家長表達感恩之意。


6.巴西下鄉義診Free clinic in slum areas

In Brazil, although medical treatment is free at public hospitals, due to large numbers of locals seeking free treatment, the long waits for an appointment, and the quality of treatment is an issue. To help, Tzu Chi volunteers hold monthly free clinics in slum areas. At a recent free clinic, Tzu Chi volunteers and doctors, provided ultra-sounds and pre-scription glasses, to those in need. Let`s take a look.

在巴西，公立醫院提供免費看病，但因為人潮眾多，不只影響到品質，掛號就要等到一年半載 ，因此慈濟志工每個月定期舉辦義診，走進貧民區 ，在近期的義診，最主要提供超音波以及為需要的民眾配眼鏡，讓我們一起來看看。


7.巴西義診人物Free clinics - behind the scenes

Continue on our last report, Tzu Chi volunteers` dedication in the free clinic, has moved many local residents to join their efforts - like Mario, who has devoted himself, for the past 15 years to volunteer work and has even invited his neighbors to join. At their most recent free clinic, Tzu Chi volunteers arrived at Mario`s neighbourhood in Ja-ba-qua-ra, where local volunteers, took the news crew into their neighborhood, to experience their living conditions.

持續上一則的報導，慈濟在巴西的義診，為居民付出的行動，感動許多當地人，像是一位馬里奧，就一參加十五年，還接引街坊鄰居來參與，這一次義診團隊來到馬里奧居住的貧民區－賈巴瓜拉，當地的志工帶著 新聞採訪團隊走進社區，看看居民的生活狀況。

8.病痛失妻轉念Finding peace in recycling

In Taiwan, Lin Muhuo(林木火) who lives in Taichung`s(台中) Tanzi (潭子) District, was diagnosed with a brain tumor ten years ago. Following brain surgery, he has suffered from pe-ri-odic con-vul-sions. Two years ago, his wife`s death made him so sad, that he cut himself off, from the outside world. Learning of his situation, Tzu Chi volunteers started paying him regular visits, and also encouraged him to become a recycling volunteer. Through the practice of recycling, Lin disovered that he no longer, suffers from convulsions and has also found a peaceful state of mind.

家住台灣台中市潭子區的林木火，十年前罹患腦瘤，接受開腦手術後，經常癲癇抽搐發作，兩年前太太病逝，他相當憂鬱，足不出戶，慈濟志工列為居家關懷戶，時時開導，並且鼓勵林木火投入環保行列，透過做環保，不但癲癇不再發作，也轉了心念，快樂做志工。

9.汕頭環保Recycling day at Puning District

In China, the recycling day at the Tzu Chi Puning(普寧) Liaison Office in Guangdong(廣東) Province is always joined by many local residents, as many re-discover a sense of happiness through recycling. The recent recycling day on December 9th, was also joined by volunteer Wu Feng(五鳳), who`s husband was originally against Tzu Chi. Luckily, after discovered the good deeds, Tzu Chi has carried out in the past, Wu`s husband decided to let her continue to walk the Tzu Chi path.

在中國廣東，普寧聯絡處舉辦的環保日，總是有許多當地居民參與，因為許多人從做環保找回快樂，最近12月9日的環保日，則有志工五鳳的參與，五鳳的先生原本不贊成她加入慈濟，但知道慈濟所做的好事情後，決定讓她繼續走菩薩道。

Moving back to the United States at the end of the show, as Christmas is just around the corner, On December 15th, Tzu Chi volunteers at the Dallas Tzu Chi Chapter, held a charity sale, featuring vegetarian food.
