很抱歉因為之前前往花蓮參與慈青學長精進二日活動，有好幾天沒有上傳文字與影音，營隊結束回來後，又因為 blogger 有好幾天無法將檔案上傳，很心急上傳的進度已落後許多，又遲遲無法於部落格上面留言，前幾天，於諸多考量後，不得已至其它平台申請了一部落格的\空間，希望可繼續恆持這項紀錄與存檔事項，也希望有興趣透過外文了解慈濟世界的法親、大德，繼續支持這個部落格與大愛電視的資源，支持善知識、也繼續支持慈濟的志業，菩薩大招生，為淨化人心，祥和社會共同持續努力。

Coming up in today’s show, we follow US Tzu Chi volunteers as they head to Eagle Pass, Texas to hand out cash cards to flood survivors. Next, Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital practice for their upcoming accrediation exam with Tzu Chi’s Medical Mission deputy director, Zhang Wencheng(張文成). Finally, we see how Taiwan’s ＂strawberry＂ generation cope with the differences of degree earned and actual job placement.

1. 德州水災發放

In the United States, homes in Eagle Pass, Texas were flooded due to torrential rain in mid June which caused the Rio Grande to burst. Texas Tzu Chi volunteers received a list of names of families in need from the local American Red Cross and provided relief to the victims in the form of cash cards, giving them what they need most in this difficult time.

美國德州的伊格帕斯，六月中旬降下暴雨，導致河流水位暴漲，引發水災，德州慈濟志工與當地紅十字會合作，前往了解災民的現況，並發放現值卡，幫助災民度過難關。


2. 巴淡霾害口罩

For the past two weeks, many countries in Southeast Asia have been affected by the thick haze that started in Indonesia due to the illegal burning of forests. In Batam City, as a result of the smog, symptoms of eye irritation, coughing and difficulty in breathing have developed in some residents. To help, local Tzu Chi volunteers and army units worked hand-in-hand to distribute free surgical masks to members of the public.

最近這兩星期，東南亞幾個國家受到因為非法燒森林而產生的霾害影響，在巴淡市，因為霾害，許多居民也都出現呼吸困難、咳嗽和眼睛紅腫等問題，為了幫助當地居民，慈濟志工和軍人聯合發送口罩給居民。


3. 易縣冬令前訪

In preparation for this year’s winter aid distributions, China Tzu Chi volunteers have gone to Hebei(河北) Provinces’ Lianggezhuang(梁格莊) Town, Yi(易) County, to survey the needs of local residents. Among the needy residents are solitary seniors and elderly couples. Despite living in poverty and sickness, they have never given up, and their spirit has inspired the volunteers to double their efforts in future aid distributions.

年底冬令發放之前，大陸慈濟志工到河北省易縣梁格莊鎮進行訪視，這一趟，許多是孤苦無依或是相依為命的老夫妻，儘管又貧又病，這些居民從不放棄，難能可貴的真情，讓志工們動容，決心在未來的發放加倍付出。


4. 廈門李華山

Li Huashan(李華山) is a Tzu Chi care recipient in China’s Xiamen. A sufferer of progressive muscular dystrophy, Li grew weaker as he aged. He was later forced to drop out from school after his father could no longer piggyback him to school. Still, Li does not give up on his life. Tzu Chi volunteers decided to help fulfill Li’s dream of inspiring others by making a film about his story and sharing it with Tzu Chi scholarship recipients.

住在中國廈門的李華山是慈濟照顧戶，從小罹患進行性肌肉營養不良症，導致他年紀越大身體越虛弱，求學路因為爸爸無法繼續背著他而被迫中斷，但是他仍然不放棄學習，也想要幫助別人，於是慈濟志工幫他拍攝一支影片，鼓勵他人完成他助人的夢想，並在拜訪慈濟助學生時與他們分享。

5. 北慈管理精進

Moving our camera to Taiwan, to safeguard the safety of patients while hospitalized, Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital conducts routine check ups on safety and emergency procedures to ensure all staff are up to date on rules and regulations. This time, the hospital invited Tzu Chi Medical Mission’s deputy director, Zhang Wencheng(張文成), to carry out an inspection of each department and to share his knowledge on safety excellence with everyone.

鏡頭轉到台灣，為了守護病患的健康和住院安全，台北慈濟醫院在平時也不忘精進院內的行政和管理工作，特別請到慈濟醫療志業張文成副執行長，實地走訪院內各單位，進行指導和分享。


6. 南慈中尋根

Staying in Taiwan, 149 students from Tainan(台南) Tzu Chi Senior High School recently traveled to Hualien(花蓮) to visit the birthplace of Tzu Chi for the first time. Thanks to this trip, these students go home with a deeper understanding of Tzu Chi. Let’s take a look.

在台灣，台南慈濟高中149位學生，最近第一次來到花蓮，參與一趟尋根之旅，透過這次的活動，學生更加了解慈濟。


7. 四川交流準備
Also about students going on field trips. As part of their summer vacation, students of the Hualien(花蓮) and Tainan(台南) Tzu Chi Senior High Schools plan to visit Sichuan’s(四川) Tzu Chi Middle Schools in an educational exchange. Prior to their departure, the students in Taiwan joined together to carry out their final preparations and hope to bring invaluable experiences back home with them.

也是戶外旅程的報導，暑假期間，台灣台南與花蓮慈中學生將要前往四川的慈濟中學，進行人文教育交流，出發前，大家先進行行前總集訓，期望這次交流能收穫滿滿。


8. 李國修病逝
For those who enjoy theatre plays in Taiwan, this Tuesday was a sad day as Master Li Guoxiu (李國修), the founder of Pingfong (屏風) Acting Troupe, passed away due to colorectal cancer. In his life, the master had produced many popular plays bringing laughter and tears to many. He even left behind 27 new manuscripts so that fans will continue to be entertained in the years to come. Here’s more.

對台灣的戲劇迷來說，這個禮拜二可是個黑暗的一天，因為屏風表演班藝術總監李國修先生，因大腸癌病逝，生前，大師創作並演繹了許多膾炙人口的作品，為人們帶來了歡笑與淚水，他還留下了二十七齣劇本來滿足他的戲迷，一起來看看。

9. 失落世代(2)高等就業市場

Of the university graduates that you know, how many of them actually apply what they have learned in school to their jobs? In fact, a significant proportion of Taiwan’s graduates choose a completely different career path from what they studied in college. The change for some is effortless, while, for others, it is a bumpy ride. Yet, overall, this highlights a lack of cohesion between higher education and the workplace.

您所認識的大學畢業生，有幾位有學以致用呢？台灣有一定比例的大學生，畢業後完全轉行，轉行的過程有人順利有人不順，但突顯的是台灣的高等教育還沒有做到產學合一。


10. 實業家行願

In Taiwan’s Kaohsiung (高雄), a group of entrepreneurs who are also devoted Tzu Chi Honorary Board members took time from their busy schedule to form Tzu Chi’s dharma vessel. They perform at every Honorary Board member tea gathering and also share how their lives have changed since joining Tzu Chi to inspire more people.

在台灣高雄，一群慈濟榮董的實業家抽出時間來組成行願法船，在每一場的榮董茶會中，這些人不僅組隊上台演繹，更分享自己在投入慈濟後的改變，希望接引更多人。

1.智利水患發放TC helps residents of La Pincoya

In Chile, the heavy rains towards the end of June, damaged 43 houses in La Pin-coya, a slum area situated by the capital. Upon receiving the news from a local congressman, Tzu Chi volunteers arrived with relief items, as well zinc plates, to help residents make repairs to their roofs.

智利正值寒冬，而六月底的豪雨，首都附近的貧民區，有四十三戶人家屋頂受損，一聽到國會議員的求援，志工立即動員送來鋅板，協助他們整修屋頂。



2.福建助學金Handing out financial assistance

In China, to help impverished students, on their path of education, two scholarship award ceremonies, were held in Ningde(寧德) City and Nanjing(南靖) City of Fujian(福建) Province. With Tzu Chi by their side, these students are learning valuable lessons, that they will carry with them, for the rest of their lives.

在中國，為了幫助貧困家庭的孩子求學路不中斷，在福建省，在寧德與南靖舉行了頒發助學金典禮，有了志工的陪伴，這些學生知道未來他們的日子不再孤單。


3.深圳公廣大賽Public Service Advertising contest

In Guandong(廣東), China, at a recent Public Service Advertising contest, organized by Shenzhen(深圳) Media Group, Da Ai TV was the only overseas partner, invited to take part. It is hoped that this collaboration, may serve as a platform, to spread positive energy across Guangdong (廣東), Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan.

在一場由深圳廣電集團舉辦的公益廣告大賽中，大愛電視台被邀請成為唯一境外合作伙伴，希望透過交流，能共同在廣東、香港、澳門和台灣，打造出社會的正能量。


4.失落世代(1)新鮮人停看聽Hard choices for college graduates

June marked the end of the school year, for most of Taiwan`s college students. Although a time of celebration for many, with Taiwan`s economic outlook still gloomy, many students are faced with the choice of, trying to either find a job, in this difficult market, or continuing on with their schooling. In our next report, let`s find out why one third of students in the country, is unable to find a job, within six month of grduation.

六月是台灣大學生畢業的季節，畢業固然值得慶祝，但目前台灣經濟前景不明，許多學生面臨該出社會找工作，還是繼續升學的困難選擇，今天的專題中，帶大家看看為何三分之一的學生，無法在半年內找到工作。


5.新莊環保感恩Tea gathering for recycling volunteers

In New Taipei City`s Xinzhuang(新莊) District, Tzu Chi volunteers organized a tea gathering at the Fuying(福營) recycling station, to thank the recycling volunteers for their selfless dedication. As the recycling station is situated on a major road, Tzu Chi volunteers took the chance to remind recycling volunteers, to be aware of their own safety when volunteering.

在新北市新莊區，慈濟志工在福營環保站舉辦茶會，感恩環保志工的辛勤付出，由於環保站就在車道前面，志工也把握機會，提醒環保志工注意安全問題。


6.廣東普寧環保A new recycling point in Puning City

In Guangdong(廣東) Province, China, a glass factory owner in Puning(普寧) City, recently donated his factory to Tzu Chi, which was later turned into a recycling point. Thanks to this kindhearted owner, recycling volunteers, can now practice recycling in a bigger space.

在中國廣東的普寧市，一位玻璃廠的老闆捐出自己的工廠給慈濟，這個地方也成為了當地的環保點，因為這個熱心的老闆，環保志工現在能有個大一點的地方做資源回收。


7.0630照顧癲癇兒Living with refractory epilepsy

There are about 200,000 epilepsy sufferers in Taiwan, and about 30 percent of them, have the more serious form of the condition, called refra-ctory epilepsy. Next we meet, Lv Siwei(呂思緯), whose brain and motor functions were damaged, by his frequent seizures. However, his mother refused to give up, and finally helped the boy, get a chance at a normal life.

台灣目前約有二十萬人患有癲癇，其中三成是無法以藥物控制，非常難以救治的頑性癲癇，現在為您介紹的呂思緯，就是因為長期的癲癇發作，造成他智力和運動能力受損，但因為他的媽媽從未放棄過，讓他有機會也能擁有正常的人生。

8.約堡腦麻關懷Tzu Chings bring joy to patients

Since 2001, Johannesburg Tzu Chi volunteers in South Africa, have conducted regular visits, to the local United Cerebral Palsy Association,to care for the patients there. Recently, the youth volunteers brought some aid supplies, and spent time singing and dancing, with the UCPA residents.

南非約堡的慈濟志工，從2001年開始，固定會前往當地的UCPA腦麻收容中心，最近慈青帶來一些物資，與跟院生跳舞唱歌。


9.馬素粽義賣Sticky rice dumplings for charity

In Malaysia, to raise funds for the construction of the Penang dialysis and education centers, a two-day glutinous rice dumpling making event, was held at the Ba-tu Pa-hat Liaison Office. Thanks to the help of 125 volunteers, a total of 2,748 sticky rice dumplings were made, which generated more than 5,064 USD dollars in sales.

在馬來西亞，為了籌募檳城洗腎及教育中心的建設經費，峇株巴轄聯絡處，舉辦了兩天的包粽活動，因為125位志工的幫忙，包了2,748顆粽子，募得約5,064美元的善款。

1. 菲仙範發大米

We kick off the show in the Philippines, recently local Tzu Chi volunteers, held a rice distribution, in the City of San Juan, helping a total of 3,784 households.During this event, the volunteers also seized the opportunity, to explain the meaning behind Tzu Chi’s bamboo coin banks, and invited participants to sign up as Tzu Chi members.

一開始來到菲律賓，當地慈濟志工在仙範市舉辦大米發放，共有3784戶家庭領取，活動過程中，慈濟志工和大家分享竹筒歲月精神，並邀請民眾參加慈濟會員。


2. 南非本土愛灑

In South Africa, to recruit more volunteers to their cause. Durban volunteers traveled to Harrismith, to hold a tea gathering, and a two-day home visitation event.The two events not only succeeded, in bringing love and care into the community, but also inspired residents to join Tzu Chi.

南非慈濟志工積極推動本土志工招募，最近德本志工再次前往哈雷史密斯，進行二天愛灑活動，並且下鄉訪視，付出愛和關懷，也激勵許多社區民眾加入慈濟志工行列。


3. 大直居家打掃

In Taiwan, Taipei’s Zhongshan(中山) District Tzu Chi volunteers, traveled to the remote mountainous area of, Da Zhi(大直) to visit senior Chen(陳), who lives on his own. To help the senior, enjoy a comfortable living environment, the volunteers not only cleaned up his house, but also delivered second-hand furniture and a new mattress.

在台灣，台北中山區慈濟志工最近來到台北大直郊區的山上，關懷獨居的陳伯伯，為了讓伯伯可以有個舒適的環境，志工不但幫忙清掃環境，更送上二手家具，還有新床墊。

4. 認識癲癇

In Taiwan, most people don’t know much about epilepsy, and patients are often ridiculed. Even for those, who do know about the disease, they might be misled by old TV soaps, about how to handle someone with epilepsy. However, the proper protocol actually is, elevate the patient’s head, and turn them to their side, and they should recover quickly.

在台灣，社會大眾普遍對癲癇認識不足，患者長期遭受歧視，即使少數認識該疾病的人，也仍停留在電視劇中演過，發作時要如何處理，其實正確的做法是協助患者把頭部墊高，側身平躺，很快他們就能恢復意識。


5. 板橋市場環保

Staying in Taiwan, for three consecutive years, Tzu Chi volunteers Zeng Meiqin (曾美琴) and Wang-Liao Shumei (王廖淑美) of New Taipei City, travel to a nearby traditional market, each day at noon, to collect plastic bags and fruit wrappers. Many vendors were reluctant to cooperate at first, as they felt it was too troublesome, but the pair’s determination, soon moved them to help.

台灣的報導，三年來，慈濟志工曾美琴與王廖淑美，每天中午都會在傳統市場回收水果套袋和塑膠袋，攤商一開始不想配合，因為覺得麻煩，不過兩人的決心很快打動了攤商。

On Charitable Offering

Charity not only comes in the form of donations and relief items; but communicating in a soft and pleasant tone and soothing the minds of others with dharma are also ways of giving. Master Cheng Yen reminds us to cultivate our inner-self and work cooperatively in team efforts; only then will we be able to assist in the development of Tzu Chi.

開示：布施 不只是給予金錢、物資，用柔和悅耳的聲音與人交談，讓人 聞之歡喜，亦是布施；或是運用佛法開導，使之心安平靜，亦是布施。上人教大家用心修學、增長慧命，團隊合和互協，才有力量幫助志業發展。


6. 印習經院自力

In Indonesia, for the past 10 years, Tzu Chi volunteers have built a close partnership, with the Islamic Nural Iman Boarding School. They not only distributed rice and helped build classrooms, but also taught children, Jing Si Aphorisms and Chinese, as well as opened classes for students, to learn necessary working skills.

印尼努魯亞伊曼的伊斯蘭教習經院，與慈濟有近10年的情誼，慈濟人不僅在這發放大米，幫忙援建校舍，也與孩子分享靜思語，學習中文，更提供課程，讓孩子學習一技之長，自力更生。

7. 印童軍推環衛

To enhance public awareness on the importance of environmental hygiene, the Indonesia Ministry of Public Works, organized a Sanitation Jam-bo-ree. Organizers hoped that through the event, students can take back what they have learned, and implement environmental awareness on their school campuses.

為了增進民眾對環境衛生的意識及重視，印尼公共工程部在雅加達舉辦環衛童軍大露營，主辦單位希望藉由此活動，讓年輕學子學習和帶動，進而在印尼的各校園推動環保 。


8. 約堡黃建堂

In Johannesburg, South Africa, there is a steel factory owner, whose wife is currently training to be a certified Tzu Chi volunteer. Seeing the impoverished children in his community, eat from kitchen scrap buckets, and inspired by Tzu Chi Monthly’s story of saving one starfish at a time, the owner has invited the children to his factory to eat every Saturday.

南非約堡有一位鐵工廠老闆黃建堂，他的妻子正在參加慈濟志工培訓，黃建堂看到社區孤兒撿廚餘果腹，也常看慈濟出版品，心生不忍，因此每周六會請這些孩子來工廠用餐。


9. 校長人文營

Recently the Qingshui(清水) Jing Si Hall in Taichung(台中), Taiwan, organized a humanitarian camp, on behalf of 30 school principals and teachers. During the event, a few principals got up, to share how their life, has changed since joining Tzu Chi.

在台中的清水靜思堂，舉辦了一場人文營，與會的是三十位校長和老師，活動中，校長們也分享接觸慈濟後的轉變，一起來看看。


10. 韓灘慈小畢典

Following the Wenchuan(汶川) Earthquake in Sichuan Province, Tzu Chi has helped reconstruct the Hantan(韓灘) Tzu Chi Elementary School in Jintang(金堂) County. Last month, the school officially became the sister school of Tzu Chi schools in Taiwan. Recently, a graduation ceremony was also held, where students were taught to appreciate their parents’ unconditional love.

在中國四川省，汶川大地震後，慈濟援建了金堂縣韓灘慈濟小學，上個月這所學校正式成為台灣慈濟學校的姊妹校，最近在畢業典禮上，學生學習到要如何感恩父母無私的愛。

1. 印91次義診

In Indonesia, TIMA doctors and the local police hospital, joined hand, and held the 91st free clinic, in Kra-mat Ja-ti, East Jakarta. This time the event is joined by 100 TIMA doctors, from three different countries, helping a total of 1,703 patients.

印尼人醫會在東雅加達克拉馬加地鎮，與當地的警察醫院合作，舉辦第91梯次義診，這次動員一百位醫生，來自三個國家的人醫會，幫助了1703位病患。


2. 中美義診

To safeguard the health of the sick and poor, Paraguay Tzu Chi volunteers, held a free clinic, in the city of Asuncion, helping some 500 patients. But first, let’s go to Guatemala, where Tzu Chi volunteers, are holding a free clinic, in the remote area of, Plan Grande Pa-len-cia.

為了幫助生病和窮苦的人，巴拉圭慈濟志工在亞松森市舉辦義診，幫助約五百人。但一開始，我們先到瓜地馬拉，參與慈濟志工在布朗格蘭地社區舉辦的義診。

3. 菲火災發放

In the Philippines, as electricity is very expensive, some residents in slum areas, can only access electricity, through illegal connections, which often leads to electrical fires. Recently, local Tzu Chi volunteers, arrived at two different cities, to distribute aid supplies and rice, to survivors of two recent electrical fires.

在菲律賓，因為電力公司都是私人企業，因此電價高，許多貧民區的民眾因為沒有錢付電，只能非法偷接電，因此時常會有電線走火發生，最近當地慈濟志工來到馬拉汶市和馬尼拉，發放物資給火災災民。


4. 甘肅靖遠訪視

In China, to help needy residents in Jingyuan(靖遠) County, Gansu(甘肅) Province, Tzu Chi volunteers not only built water cellars, but also Da Ai Village, with the first phase completed, and the second one, well underway. Recently, Tzu Chi volunteers visit the area once again, to check on the progess of the construction, and visit the villagers.

在中國，為了幫助甘肅靖遠縣貧窮居民，慈濟不僅為村民蓋水窖，也興建大愛村，在第一期大愛村完工後，第二期工程也正在進行中，慈濟志工前往了解工程進度，也特地上山訪視，把熱鬧還有希望帶進村裡。

5. 搶救失眠(4)失眠解藥

For those that have trouble falling asleep, what solutions outside of, taking sleeping aids are available? In today’s report, we visit a sleep center in Taiwan, to learn some exercises, that can help us get a good night’s sleep.

睡不著或是睡不好，要怎麼樣才能幫助睡眠？今天來到睡眠中心，練習如何把身心放鬆，放下煩惱，獲得一夜好眠。


6. 小天使遺愛

In Taiwan’s Miaoli(苗栗), fourth-grader, Wu Zhenyi(吳振伊), accidentally got tangled in curtain cords, and later passed away. Following the accident, Tzu Chi volunteers provided emotional support, to Wu(吳)’s family, and encouraged his parents, to donate his organs, to help more people.

在台灣苗栗縣，國小四年級學生的吳振伊被窗簾纏住脖子，窒息往生，意外發生至今，慈濟志工一路陪伴膚慰家屬，還鼓勵父母捐出孩子的器官，讓更多人得以重生。

Dharma can be found in each and every one of us as we all have our strengths and weaknesses. We should learn the good points in others, and beware not to make the same mistakes as everyone else. It is in crowds that we cultivate our spirituality, not when we are alone seeking tranquility.

7. 走出癲癇

Last July,Taiwan’s Department of Health, modified its definition of re-frac-tory epilepsy, which differs from regular epilepsy. And with this change, it greatly reduces patients’ disability benefits. Here’s more.

去年七月，台灣衛生署重新定義頑性癲癇的標準，頑性癲癇有別於普通癲癇，這個政策的改變，讓患者減少原有的福利，一起來看看我們的報導。


8. 肌萎張守德

Next, we meet Zhang Shoude(張守德) from Kaohsiung(高雄), Taiwan, who was diagnosed, with spinal muscular atrophy, when he was 8 years-old. Furthermore, before he turn 18, Zhang(張) lost his entire family. However, he has managed to keep a postive outlook on life.

今天帶您看一位來自台灣高雄的張守德，8歲時確診罹患脊髓性肌肉萎縮症，接著，18歲前，身邊的親人相繼往生，但張守德仍然正面面對生命，


9. 內湖環保

Lately, Taipei City’s Neihu(內湖) District Tzu Chi recycling station, has turned into a classroom, educating on the international stage, with visitors from around the globe. After their visits, everyone walks away, with not only valuable lessons on recycling, but also respect for the recycling volunteers.

最近，台北市的內湖環保站變成教室，也發揮了國際教化的功能，學員來自全球，參訪後，大家發願要把這些理念 帶回家，而對志工的投入，也感到尊敬。

1. 情境模擬教學

CPR Annie is a training mannequin that helps emergency workers and members of the public learn how to perform CPR. However, in Taiwan, the mannequin has received an upgrade and can now simulate more than just cardiac arrest. The upgraded mannequin is helping medical staff throughout Taiwan ’s medical centers stay sharp so that they can save more lives. Let ’s take a look.

用來模擬教學的假人安妮，教導急救人員與社會大眾如何做CPR，但是在台灣，這個假人被升級後，如今已可以模擬心跳停止外的狀況，這個升級版的假人，在台灣各大醫學中心協助訓練醫療人員，進行搶救生命的訓練，一起來看看。


2. 印尼助學金

To help impoverished students, Tzu Chi Indonesia Chapter not only provides them with scholarship subsidies, but also job opportunities following their college graduation. This year, 30 scholarship recipients signed employment contracts with Tzu Chi, and vowed to devote themselves to Tzu Chi ’s missions as a way to give back to society and help relieve their family ’s financial burden.

為了幫助貧困家庭的孩子，慈濟印尼分會頒發大學獎助學金，並且畢業後給予工作機會，今年有30位助學生簽定合約，決定承擔慈濟志業，回饋社會，解決經濟困難。


3. 智利老人關懷

In Chile, Father ’s Day is celebrated on the third Sunday of June and recently Chile Tzu Chi volunteers young and old traveled to a senior home in Macul, which is located near the central-eastern part of the Greater Santiago region, to celebrate the holiday with the residents there. Although from different faiths, the festive atmosphere and warmth the volunteers brought with them was infectious.

智利的父親節是六月第三個星期日，最近，智利慈濟志工與小志工專程來到位在大聖地牙哥區中東方的瑪估市黃昏老人院關懷長輩，雖然彼此有著不同的宗教種族，不過志工帶來的歡樂氣氛，讓人感受愛的力量。


4. 搶救失眠(3)陳泰然

In our continuing series on insomnia, today we take a closer look at the effect of academic pressures on sleep patterns. Doctors say that for most people, 7 to 8 hours of sleep is the minimum needed to fully recharge and that long term sleep deprivation can lead to various health problems.

在我們的失眠系列報導中，今天來探討學術研究壓力對睡眠造成的影響，醫生說多數人至少需要7到8小時的睡眠，才有充足的休息，長期的睡眠障礙，可能會導致各種健康問題。

5. 銀髮環保樂團

Taiwan ’s Hondao(弘道) Senior Citizen ’s Welfare Foundation has service stations all over the island. In Taichung City, a senior citizens band was formed at the Qingshui(清水) District Station as the elderly there enjoys singing and playing music. Their musical instruments are all made from recycled materials and their eldest member is a 94-year-old grandfather who has full attendance despite having difficulty walking.

弘道老人福利基金會在全台各地成立關懷據點，在台中清水的這一站，因為長輩們喜歡唱歌與音樂，他們的樂器都是用回收來的材質做的，年紀最大的是94歲的阿公，儘管行動不便，還拿下全勤獎。


6. 馬照顧戶關懷

Moving to Malaysia, in March of this year, Tampin Tzu Chi volunteer stepped into Yu Guang ’s(余光) home, who suffered from cancer. Unfortunately, Yu passed away a month later, but this did not put a stop to the volunteer ’s assistance. They continue to care for the family, and have even inspired Yu ’s family members to continue the cycle of love.

鏡頭來到馬來西亞，今年三月，淡邊慈濟志工來到照顧戶、罹患癌症的余光的家關懷，一個月後余光 不幸往生，可是志工還是持續協助家人，也因此感動了余光的家屬，願意主動來關懷，讓愛繼續循環下去。

7. 大愛心所在(3)菩薩守護靜思堂
From its construction to its official opening, a group of devoted Tzu Chi volunteers reports to the Taichung Jing Si Hall each day to offer help wherever needed. Today, we take a look at this group of volunteers who have safeguarded the hall as their own home and found much joy in devoting their time to it.

從興建到啟用，有一群慈濟志工天天都會來台中靜思堂報到，守護家園，今天我們來認識這一群志工，把靜思堂當成家來駐守，滿心歡喜的付出。


8. 中靜思堂福田

The total area of the Taichung Jing Si Hall covers some 40,000 square meters of space and is ten times larger than the previous Taichung Chapter. Since its opening, over 300 volunteers assemble at the Jing Si Hall early each morning to cleanup the venue, making it spotless and presentable for all who visit.

台中靜思堂的總建築面積大約4萬多平方公尺，比原本使用的台中分會大了十倍，自啟用至今，每天都有三百名福田志工，一大清早就聚集在台中靜思堂，展開清掃的工作，要將場地打掃乾淨，接引更多會眾。


9. 慈小水上運動

Before the summer vacation begins here in Taiwan, Hulien Tzu Chi Elementary School held its 13th annual water sports day. Through the event, teachers hope to educate students the spirit of teamwork and water safety. Here ’s more.

在放暑假前，花蓮慈大附中國小部舉辦第13屆水上運動會，讓大家學習團隊精神，也提醒小朋友注意水上安全，一起來看看。


10. 永和人生講座

Next, we meet Yonghe (永和) Tzu Chi volunteer, Chen Xiuxiu(陳秀琇), who has a relatively short life line on her palm. In Chinese fortune-telling, if a person ’s life line is short, they may have a shorter life expectancy. Thankfully, after Chen(陳) started working as a Tzu Chi volunteer, she became the master of her life and destiny. Her life story, ＂The Sky Beyond＂ is now broadcasting on Da Ai TV. Recently, Tzu Chi volunteers invited Chen and her family to share their stories with members of the public.

在台灣，永和區慈濟志工陳秀琇，生下來生命線就比較短，就算命的來看，生命線短，壽命也不常。直到她走進慈濟，才成為生命與命運的主人，她的故事「手心外的天空」最近在大愛劇場播出，志工邀請本尊和她的家人，分享他們的人生故事。


11. 中和好話街

In New Taipei City, Zhonghe(中和) District Tzu Chi volunteers have been promoting Jing Si Aphorisms to local businesses for the past five years. Every month, the volunteers will visit storeowners door-to-door to replace Jing Si Aphorism posters. The volunteers hope the Master ’s words of wisdom can inspire shop owners and passersby to change themselves for the better.

在新北市，中和慈濟志工過去五年來推動好話一條街活動，每個月志工會到每家店家更換靜思語，志工希望上人的法，能啟發店家以及民眾，有好的改變。

今天的提要，德州慈濟志工來到水災受災區，伊格帕司，進行勘災

接著，在台灣花蓮慈濟醫院，推動印有QR Code的智慧型藥袋，方便患者使用

最後，我們帶大家看看智慧型手機對我們睡眠品質的影響


1.德州水患勘災

We start the show in Texas, of the United States, the city of Eagle Pass, which is located near the US Mexican border suffered severe flood damage due to the 36 hours of continuous heavy rains in mid June. An estimated 600 homes were affected. To help, Tzu Chi volunteers in the state visited the disaster zone to survey the damages and will work with the local Red Cross in recovery efforts.

節目一開始，在美國德州位於美墨邊界的伊格帕司德州，在六月中旬連續36小時暴雨，導致水患，估計有六百戶受災，德州慈濟志工前往勘災，與當地紅十字會商討如何協助災民重建家園。


2.大愛心所在(2)台中靜思堂展望篇

Taiwan`s Taichung Jing Si Hall was finally opened at the beginning of this year. Covering more than 40,000 square meters of space, this majestic spiritual ground emits the glory of Buddhism without the need for words. The Jing Si Hall also easily accommodates 3,000 people which will aid the recruitment of future volunteers.

台灣台中靜思堂在今年初啟用，總建築面積將近四萬平方公尺，莊嚴宏偉的道場，無聲說法，是主要的心靈據點，這個靜思堂可以容納三千多人，讓菩薩大招生。


3.中靜思堂香積

Continuing our story of Taichung`s Jing Si Hall, as the path of the hall still need to be completed, local Tzu Chi volunteers not only have to prepare meals for staff members but also construction workers. Luckily with the new kitchen, volunteers are able to prepare delicious and healthy vegetarian food.

持續台中靜思堂的報導，台中靜思堂因為有些地方還在施工，慈濟志工不但得準備食物給職工，還有工地朋友享用，還好，因為有靜思堂的新廚房，讓志工能夠每天準備健康又美味的素食。

4.藥袋聰明用

The Hualien(花蓮) Tzu Chi Hospital recently introduced a new type of prescription bag in order to help patients with drug use safety. On the new bags a QR code and a color picture of the given medication was added. Patients can now refer to the color picture and also use their smartphone to scan the code to access to the hospital`s website for further information.

花蓮慈濟醫院，近來推動新的智慧型藥袋，提升病人用藥安全，在新的藥袋上有QR Code和藥品彩色照片，患者可以依彩色照片，還有利用智慧型手機掃描藥袋上的QR Code，連線進入醫院網站，顯示藥品詳細資料。


5.北慈溫馨小站

Like Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital, Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital is also busy preparing for the upcoming hospital accreditation. To help medical staff focus on the task at hand, Tzu Chi volunteers in northern Taiwan established a service station on the hospital`s fifth floor where they take turns providing delicious vegetarian foods and desserts for medical staff.

就如同花蓮慈院，台北慈濟醫院也即將接受醫學中心評鑑，為了幫助醫院同仁專心通過評鑑，北區慈濟志工關懷不斷，在五樓設置溫馨小站提供餐點與點心。


6.北慈道侶志工

As northern district Tzu Chi volunteers are taking turns helping at the Taipei Tzu Chi Hospital. A Tzu Chi volunteer couple, Zhu Wenjiao (朱文姣)and her husband Huang Zhengrong(黃振榮), have taken it upon themselves to be the main coordinators of the volunteers` work as a way to reciprocate for the love they received.

為了給全體同仁打氣，北區慈濟志工輪流到醫院幫忙，其中一對夫妻志工 ，朱文姣和先生黃振榮，為了感恩醫院對先生手術期間的照護，承擔起志工協調橋梁的工作。


7.搶救失眠(2)手機影響

In recent years not only has insomnia been a problem for adults, but currently there are also reports of children having trouble falling asleep at night. A major reason has been the use of computers or cell phones in the hours preceding sleep, an activity which has been shown to have an impact on the production of melatonin, thus leading to symptoms of insomnia. In our next report, we take a closer look at how our dependence on technology is interfering with our ability to get a good night`s sleep.

近年來，除了大人會失眠，台灣三分之一的孩童也有睡眠的問題，一部分的原因，可能跟睡前使用電腦、手機有關，這樣的活動會影響腦波，以及大腦褪黑激素的分泌，進而造成失眠的問題，接下來的報導，來看看電腦和手機如何影響睡眠品質。


8.減碳素食做起
According to research conducted in Canada, CO2 when emited can stay in our planet`s atmosphere for thousands of years. However, there is an easy way to reduce our carbon emissions and that is to embrace vegetarianism.

根據加拿大的研究，二氧化碳可以在環境中停留千年以上 不會消散，但是其實有一個非常簡單的方式，就可以減少我們的碳排量，那就是吃素。


9.板橋社區推素
Also about going meatless. In New Taipei City`s Banqiao District, Tzu Chi volunteers actively promote vegetarianism by holding cooking lessons in communities on a weekly basis. The dishes are all designed to be easy to make, great tasting and pleasing to the eye so more people will be willing to adapt vegetarianism.

也是茹素的報導，新北市板橋區，慈濟志工積極推廣素食，每個星期由香積志工教導民眾烹煮素食，每道菜都經過精心設計，做法簡單，美味又上相，讓更多人願意嘗試吃素。


10.護生重生

In Taiwan`s Kaohsiung(高雄), we meet 58-year-old steamed bun chef Zhang Xinan(張信安), who suffered an aortic aneurysm two years ago which resulted in paralysis of his left hand. In order to continue in his task of protecting the earth and promoting vegetarian diets, Zhang has tried to recover the use of his left hand. He says, with just one person`s effort and devotion, our environment can be better, therefore, he will carry on with his mission.

在台灣的高雄，58歲的手工饅頭師傅張信安，兩年前罹患主動脈瘤，進行血管開刀手術，沒想到竟壓迫神經，導致左手癱瘓，但靠著護生及推廣素食的使命感，他努力復健讓左手恢復功能，張信安表示，只要多一個人的力量，就能讓我們的環境變得更好，所以他一定會堅持下去。
